The MSM do not read. They get on the phone with each other and the Dems and decide how to cripple Bush and destroy Republicans.
When you listen to Fineman, Greenfield, Matthews, and now Katie Couric (Katie Kouric?) expounding on their version of the news, "Will Katie go to CBS? Is Fitzmas here? Will Joe Wilson sue to 'get back my good name?' Will our troops have to shoot their way out of Iraq? (This last is from Matthews.)there is a sense of unreality, as if what is really happening in the world is out there, somewhere outside the studio lights, like a slow tide lapping up on the beach where we are huddled waiting for someone to notice that the waves are not receding but growing bigger and there are no beacon lights shining in the darkness.
That John Kerry, who may be a psychopathic liar, but is certainly a liar, a man without a clue about his own country and no understanding of his countrymen, could get within a few million votes of becoming president, is a tribute to the power of a few men sitting around a comedian's apartment trading their support for Kerry's betrayal.
Oriana Fallaci is dying of cancer in New York City. She cannot return to Italy, her birthplace, to die in her home, because she is wanted in Italy, a criminal, for telling the truth about Islam and the West, in her book "The Rage and the Pride" and in her latest book, "The Force of Reason."
Bat Y'eor's book "Eurabia" is a thoroughly documented narrative showing European governments submission to Islam for money and power.
Both authors reveal how Europe, in the education of their young, have made hatred of America a part of the school curriculum since the closing days of World War II when Americans were still fighting and dying on their soil.
Why isn't Oriana Fallaci's name as well known as Katie Couric's to the American people? Will Miss Couric's "news" be as vital to our survival as a free people as even one paragraph in Miss Fallaci's books?
Look at the faces of the imbeciles who tell us what we should think about the non-news slop they throw at us nightly. Look at their empty eyes.
These are not serious people. We the people and our thoughts are as foreign to them as freedom of the press is to Islam. They would not deign to consider our views.
DAMN!
THAT IS BEAUTIFUL WRITING!
When is YOUR book coming out? I want SEVERAL SIGNED COPIES!
Note: It's a long download. Click here to watch!
I'm still reeling from reading post #1041; you were pinged to it also. I'm going to read about those books on Amazon now.
Anyway, I adore the idea of letting Kerry, Dean and all of them know that we're onto them by having an e-mail of this thread sent to them. That's put a big smile on my face and is a wonderful suggestion!
Barset, you've given me a lot to think about and I'm going to Amazon to read about those books and authors right now. What an insightful, interesting post.
HAPPY EASTER TO ALL
My daughter's AP American History book presented the Bay of Bigs as failure of the Eisenhower administration. Not a mention of JFK
I suspect that just about every newscaster reports the 'news' directly from the DNC fax line. The same talking points, the same words, coming from every one of them.
Gutirrez compares it to Irish flags on St. Patrick's Day
Yes and many of we Irish are boasting that we will take back Boston (oh...wait)
Shame on me for assuming they were illegals. It's hard to tell. I understand a little bit of spanish but don't say a word. Simply listen.
Great post...thank you.
A couple weeks ago, I was listening to NPR, and they were interviewing a reporter for the LA Times, who lives and reports from Germany.
He said that in Munich, there are enclaves of Turkish Muslims that are so cloistered...that one can go dozens of blocks without one word of English or German being spoken, and they are totally self-sufficient and never have to leave that area for employment or resources.
But, he said they are like Turkish Muslims of hundreds of years ago...because there is no semblance of modernity...unlike Turkey itself...
That the country of Turkey is wildly more sophisticated and modern compared to them...
The interviewer asked if he thought that was possible in the USA, where immigrants tend to assimilate more...and he said that he feels that the US may start being more like Europe soon, where immigrants won't feel the need to assimilate, because there will be accomodations for them NOT to...like ballots, and products with more foreign languages...
It was an engrossing interview, but scary as well...and it motivates a LOT of my personal views on the illegal immigrant problem.
McCain was instrumental in destroying original evidence of POWs left in Viet Nam. The vets will never forgive him for that.
I plan on reading the books as well..
Phsstpok is the one wanting to start a thread...I was just giving unsolicited suggestions about how I thought it could be used.
If he is does, that is cool...but, if not, I am sure he has some great ideas himself!!
Oh, dear---now I really AM afraid to hear what they say about Vietnam....I bet they don't mention JFK on that one either.
I also heard that he was very rude and hateful towards the families of the POW/MIA's that went to Washington to find out about them...
There is a LOT that needs to come out about him...that WILL this time...especially if we can't find someone SOON that will beat him handily in the primaries.
If there was no foul play, why, for example, wasn't the MANDATED (and presumably exculpatory) autopsy performed?
Ironically, the logic of this pronouncement by Martin Luther King would, in short order, be refuted by the reality of his own lynching. King's hope was misplaced and his reasoning was circular. The resultant rule of law relied on by King presumed an adherence to the rule of law in the first instance. Adherence to the rule of law is not something normally associated with the clintons. Moreover, racial and ethnic disrespect, intimidation, exploitation and hate have always been a fundamental clinton tactic and the reflexive use the "N"-word and other racial and ethnic slurs, an essential element in the clinton lexicon. When the "first black president" and his wife ran Arkansas, the NAACP sued them for intimidating black voters at the polls.

Began agitating against the information beginning in second grade when the science book referred to stalagmites and stalactites as icicles....
I don't like that idea at all.
Eurabia has gone to the top of my must read books.
From reviews of the book, this explained a lot to me:
For years I wondered why my European relatives spoke more favorably of Islam than Christianity, and supported the "victim" Palestinians over the "oppressive" Israelis. Far from being an accidental consequence of open dabate, their views actually resulted from the conscious decisions made by European elites to allow massive immigration and cultural change. Because of those elite decisions, the citizens of Europe now face a frightening future, where demographic change favors an Islamic conquest of Europe.
Another segment of a review:
"There are three forms of jihad," says Bat Ye'or today, "the military jihad, the economic jihad and the cultural jihad." The EAD between the European Union and the Arab League has been a means of spreading the economic and cultural jihads from the Middle East to Europe.
The process outlined here began with Charles DeGualle's 1967 pronouncement that henceforward, France would assume a pro-Arab policy. In 1971, France began selling arms to Qaddafi, a step from which the EAD flowed as naturally as it did from DeGualle's policy initiative.
Another factor, according to Bat Ye'or, was the French desire to regain a leading role in European history; Georges Pompidou furthered the process in October 1973, following the Syrian and Egyptian Yom Kippur war with Israel.
At that time, the Arab world imposed an oil embargo on Denmark, Holland and the U.S., cut oil production and began to raise oil prices by five percent a month. These new global geopolitics terrified the leaders of Germany and France.
Before it agreed to establish the EAD, the Arab League had demanded that Europe establish pro-Arab and anti-American policies in all their united political, cultural and economic endeavors. The oil embargo was the catalyst which finally moved the European Economic Community to action. Now, writes Bat Ye'or, EEC ministers enacted resolutions that met the Arab demands, and which at the same time reversed the true intent of United Nations Resolution 242. Only then was the Arab oil embargo to Europe lifted.
MUST READ TO UNDERSTAND EUROPE.
LOL...I am sorry, I don't mean to laugh, but...
Stalagtites and stalagmites = icicles...oh, dear.
