Why not blame the gov't? After all, steroids were illegal in '89, and Mike Francesa to the contrary, baseball by not banning steroids in the contract didn't get a walk, and neither does Bonds. Contractual silence doesn't negate Federal and state criminal law. MLB is still part of the United States. So either the Feds or Cal. should have prosecuted Bonds, Giambi, Sheffield [and I'm a Yankees fan] and whoever else, not just BALCO.
And since I presume, there's a standard morals clause in Big Barry's contract, throw him out of baseball for violating it, and let HIM sue [Defense is better than offense in court]. Any records established by Bonds, Sosa, McGuire, Palmeiro, and anybody else baseball suspects of juicing should be wiped off the books.

Why not blame those who dropped the ball?
Feds, state and league?
It was sitting right in front of their yaps, and the enitre public, and now there is outrage?
Spare me.
The bit on Bonds is more of the pack mentality.
Nobody cared when Brian Downing was roided up...or was that just iron pumping that got him to look like Superman?
They had their chances to crack down. Year of chancs and did zippo.
What about the NFL?
Where is the cry about those in the NFL?
Don't tell me you think it's the "training table" that's made them this huge in 20 years?
