If you were English, Scots, German, Scots Irish, or were from one of the Protestant States in Europe.

No, the Founders were exceedingly pro-immigration. The Brits, on the other hand, had sought to limit it.

Jefferson, et al, even proposed that Catholics be allowed to immigrate.

I know this is not possible but limiting immigration to Protestants would make USA more stable and prosperous place - USA culture is derived from Protestantism. (I am not Protestant).
