Over the past 6 years, I have gradually lost 60 lbs. I now have a BMI of 21. I have done this through healthy exercise and watching every calorie.
I appreciate Subway. I know exactly how many calories I am eatting without having to worry about hidden fat and its extra calories.
There sandwiches are always fresh and what I choose is heart healthy.
They are NOT the "subs", "grinders", or "hoagies" that I know from my Philadelphia youth. Subway serves sandwiches (in my opinion) and they should NOT be confused with the real thing.
By the way,,,,there is nothing like a good Philly cheese steak or tuna hoagie.

Yup. The Queen of the Night and I travel a lot. Subways offer dependably delicious sandwiches. Even got them in Budapest. (The local sandwich shops might be better -- but they might be worse -- much worse!) You want more meat, order more. You want different bread, order it. Want it toasted, order it. Yum!

You are so right! Ironically, you can order "Philly Cheese Steaks" in many other parts of the country, but they ALWAYS make them wrong. I consider them a slander on Philadelphia in much the same way the "Danish" you get in America is a slander on Denmark.

I agree with you.
And, to others -- yes, they sell some junk, but I will guess they wouldn't sell that stuff if no one was buying it.
As for me, when I go to fast food, I do choose Subway, and I almost order the same thing: the smallest, "deli" size round sandwich, with turkey and mustard (no mayo), with veggies piled high.
I can't get that small size sandwich at a mom and pop deli or at any other fast food. And, I like that they publish all the nutrion info on their wrappers and napkins. Because then -- I always know what I DON'T want to order at Subway!

I wonder how many of the people griping about the sandwiches not being big enough are in as good shape as those of us who do not think a 1000 calorie sandwich is better?
