When Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.) summoned the media to Howard University last week to tell her side of the story in an altercation with a Capitol Police officer, she assumed the traditional news conference position behind a podium and a bank of microphones.
She stood there wearing a coral-colored jacket and dangling earrings and raising the serious issue of racial injustice. But it was impossible not to stare at her hair. As your plainspoken mother might say, it appeared to be standing all over her head.

"Trying to style it."
Now there's a perplexing concept-that McKinney actually considers her present hairdo a style and spends time getting it to look that way. That is almost frightening.

I see. So when we attack McKinney for her hair, we are racists. When this reporter attacks Laura Bush, as she has over and over again, for her hair, clothes, etc., is it also racism?

"Katherine Harris, Nancy Pelosi changed their hair. The thing that doesn't change is the shape of your nose, your eyes, your forehead," Carson said. "
But did Katherine Harris and Nancy Posterier continue to wear their their congressional pins after changing their hair?

...."McKinney's new style is a "twist-out." "You can keep the look for about three days"....Yuk! I knew McKinney was nasty -- but not washing your hair for 3+ days is just downright gross.

She went for her new fright wig hair style to draw attention away from her bloated face and the extra 25-50 pounds she had put on. Agreed that she looked better the old way with braids or corn row or whatever they are called.

Cynthia "Prissy" McKinney is a joke. But she represents the folks in the 4th District -- Black folks, that is.
Now what to you think of universal suffrage?

But McKinney also made her hairstyle into such a symbol that it was hard to see the person behind it. Who could notice the cheekbones, the nose and the smile with the loaded distractions of that washerwoman crown of braids?
Not exactly an educated sounding article but it looks like she's defending the Officer to me... In a really bizarre kind of way.

Black hair is much drier than white hair- so while if you didn't wash white hair everyday it would look oily, washing black hair everyday would dry it out and damage the hair. Black women wash their hair 2-3 times a week.

Do you still believe that everyone should have the franchise? When everybody can vote the result is often someone like Cynthia "Prissy" McKinney gettting in office.
