The house is forced to act for it's constituents because of their short-terms, and their direct answering to a district. I wish we could get rid of the 17th amendment and have our Senator answer to us.

Federalism...where are you?

I wish we could get rid of the 17th amendment and have our Senator answer to us.

That Amendment was one of the biggest mistakes we ever made as a nation.

These bozos should be answering to their respective State Legislatures. Instead, they're answering to nobody except their own egos as they are effectively elected for life.

They are our very own House Of Lords which the Founding Fathers never envisioned and were wise enough not to give us. In their hasty, populist stupidity, our great grandfathers reversed the wisdom of these men who were much greater and wiser than they. We should eliminate this like the Prohibition Amendment was eliminated.
