MORE FOREIGN DANGER
San Antonio is recognized as a major crossroads for illegal aliens flooding out of Mexico.
Exactly how many stay in the Alamo City and Bexar County is anybody's guess. Estimates run as high as 200,000 and are growing in leaps and bounds.
Nation wide the number of illegal aliens is estimated at 10-12 million. I believe the number is much higher --in the 15-20 million range.
Regardless of the number, the US has been invaded by hordes of illegal aliens, aka 'criminals,' and the invasion continues unabated.
The Bush administration has been dragging its boots in dealing with the growing illegal alien problem.
While we're taking the fight to the terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan, America is being invaded through our southern borders. Who knows how many terrorists have crossed the border into the US.
President Bush favors a "Guest-Workers" program and has at least signed off on increasing the number of border patrol agents.
"You cannot enforce the border without having a temporary guest worker program," he said.
The best way to enforce the border is to first secure the border. Besides illegal alien workers aren't guests. They're law-breakers.
Congress is debating proposed immigration legislation that will allow illegal aliens to become US citizens without having to first leave the country.
In other words, granting 'amnesty' to criminals, as was the case in 1986 when congress gave that gift 3.1 million illegal aliens under the Immigration Reform and Control Act. Rewarding law-breakers.
Aside from the fact that the Mexican government is riddled with corruption, the blame for the immigration mess we're in can be blamed on the failure of our elected leaders, dating back to the Kennedy/Johnson administrations.
In 1965 Senator Ted "I'll drive" Kennedy introduced the Immigration Reform Act of 1965 which eliminated the 'National Origins' quota system.
"Our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same," boasted Kennedy. In all fairness, his strength is swimming, not counting.
Kennedy's ally, Senator Hyram Fong said, "Our cultural pattern will never be changed as far as America is concerned."
That was forty-one years ago. Today 10-12 million or more illegal aliens are running loose in the US, and more are on the way.
Mexican flags are becoming more visible, in many cases flown above the US flag which is flown upside down. Are widespread riots next?
Sen. Bill Frist, majority leader, called the nation's immigration system "flat-out broken."
Frist is right. Immigrants cost taxpayers over 50 billion dollars annually in public assistance alone. Lou Dobbs, veteran news commentator, said the total economic impact of illegal aliens may run as high as 200 billion dollars annually.
Legal and illegal immigration has reached a record high of 2 million annually.
So far, all we've gotten from the federal government is a pot of undercooked menudo, and overly ripe tripas.
Our elected leaders, especially in congress, are more concerned over the Hispanic vote than they are on securing our borders and the nation.
In Dec. 2005 the House passed a bill with the following provisions:
Requires employers to verify social security numbers of employees or face civil or criminal penalties. They have six years to come up with a database.
Many, if not most illegals have fake social security cards and other forms of ID.
Requires mandatory detention for all non-Mexican illegal immigrants. What about illegal Mexicans?
Makes illegal presence in the country a felony. This is a good idea but probably has no chance of passing the senate.
Makes a drunken driving conviction a deportable offense. This will never get past Ted Kennedy.
Requires building 700 miles of two-layer fences on the border between Mexico and the US. Why stop at 700 miles? The fence should run from Brownsville, Texas to the west coast of California.
Does not address guest-worker program. A fancy name for a criminal-worker program.
Senate immigration proposals include the following:
Allows illegal aliens who were in the US before 2004 to continue working legally for six years. Rewards criminal activity. You can bet every illegal alien they find will have been in the US before 2004.
Adds up to 14,000 new border patrol agents. A more realistic figure would be 50,000.
Fines employers between $500 and $20,000 for each illegal alien hired and up to six months in prison. Sounds tough but will never be enforced.
Allows illegal aliens to enroll in college or university or enlist in the military. Putting them in the military is a good idea.
Makes it a misdemeanor (slap on the wrist) for immigrants in the country illegally. The House bill makes it a felony.
If this is the best congress can do to control illegal immigration and secure the nation, then we may just as well run up the white flag and start speaking Spanish.
If the laws already on the books were enforced we wouldn't need any new laws.
Let's face it the vast majority of illegal aliens are Mexicans out of Mexico. They have come here to take advantage of the economic and welfare benefits not available in their own corrupt country.
However, we are being told by these illegal aliens that they don't give a damn about our laws. They are going to come here anytime they want, stay as long as they please, do what they want and if we (Americans) don't like it we can go to hell!
Every day illegal aliens become more defiant as evidenced by the mass demostrations protesting proposed immigration laws. You can bet our enemies (terrorists) will fully exploit these demonstrations and unrest.
Only in America would protests by illegal aliens waving foreign flags be tolerated.
Try a protest march in Mexico or any number of foreign countries waving an American flag and see how far you get.
America is being held hostage by hoards of illegal aliens who are draining the resources of the nation.
Senator Frist has identified the problem. Now its time for the US Congress and the Bush administration to fix it.
Congress should pass and the president should sign an emergency appropriations bill to fund troops on the border; construct border fences; hire border patrol agents, vehicles and equipment; establish detention centers and provide special funding to state governments to assist in the identification/detention/deportation of illegal aliens.
The first priority in immigration reform should be to secure the borders, even it means initally using the military. We don't need a new law to do this. We only need the will to carry it out.
Once the borders are secured and illegal aliens are stopped at the border we can turn our attention to rounding up and deporting the 10-12 million illegal aliens (criminals) running around loose in the country.
It may take time to clean up the immigration mess and stop the invasion; and it won't be easy, but it can be done. Again, we don't need any new laws only need the will to do it.
Meanwhile INS and border patrol agents should be allowed to do their jobs without political interference. The following are comments from INS sources who testified before the US Congress:
"The enforcement people in INS would really like to start doing our jobs like we did before we were castrated by the policies of the last decade."
"Current regional and headquarters politically motivated policeis prohibit us from enforcing immigration law in the interior for fear of offending a group or generating negative media attention. This includes joint operations with local law enforcement..."
"Local law enforcement agencies are disgusted with us and don't even bother calling us anymore since they know we won't or can't respond."
Congress turned a deaf ear to their pleas.
About all we can expect from our government is more worthless Ted Kennedy immigration "reform" legislation that won't be enforced anyway.
Congressional "lip service" to placate the restless peasants.
Too bad for our country.
Is that a white flag I see waving over the nation's Capitol?

This is of course "undocumented" (and never mentioned in the recorded spiel!)

Just down the street from us is a KFC advertising available positions. Their sign is a 4-foot banner in front of the restaurant, completely in Spanish. My 11-year-old wanted to know, "How can somebody who doesn't speak English work in a restaurant? How could you be sure they understood your order?"
Explain to him that sometimes a franchise wants to disenfranchise their customers...
What galls me is the level of contempt Jorge has for the intelligence of the average american. In many ways, he is no better than Gore, or McGovern, or Jimmah. Some republican we have here!

You've nailed it on the head.
About those surrvelliance detectors dropped from planes...
The conversation was about the expense and time it would take to build a wall. This came up as a way/method to do it quickly. My question was, "So, you come up with a way to detect the amount of people crossing over at specific places. How to you stop them?"
The detectors are supposedly very sophisticated. You are right, unfortunately, it isn't a matter of "can" but of "will"... and agenda.
