I have discovered I can bleep past it by hitting 1 immediately. With many systems, you can short-circuit your way to a human by pressing 0, or on some systems, 00.
This is of course "undocumented" (and never mentioned in the recorded spiel!)

...the Spanish part of "press 1 for Spanish" was played BEFORE the English part.Just down the street from us is a KFC advertising available positions. Their sign is a 4-foot banner in front of the restaurant, completely in Spanish. My 11-year-old wanted to know, "How can somebody who doesn't speak English work in a restaurant? How could you be sure they understood your order?"

About those surrvelliance detectors dropped from planes...
The conversation was about the expense and time it would take to build a wall. This came up as a way/method to do it quickly. My question was, "So, you come up with a way to detect the amount of people crossing over at specific places. How to you stop them?"
The detectors are supposedly very sophisticated. You are right, unfortunately, it isn't a matter of "can" but of "will"... and agenda.

I assume that "temporary guest worker" is a politically corrected form of "incarceration at hard labor for a term of years." Bush finds this program necessary to "enforce the border" because any border-jumpers, especially slave-drivers, perverts, pimps, drug-runners, murderers, rapists, and child molesters, need to become "temporary guest workers" at some penitentiary, preferably on a remote Alaskan island.
