1) Are so grateful to get out of the hellhole thirdworld countries they come from where there is no chance to advance that they work like hell when they get here, and are willing to stay up all night running convenience stores while they go to school in the day....
2) Don't have a victim mentality, here in the greatest country in the world, and...
3) Are under no illustion that the world owes them a job.
There is a reason that these "new minorities" excell...they want to, and they haven't been taught that growing, maturing, and becoming rich makes them "less" of whatever they are.
The average black person is about as smart and strong as the average white, pink, yellow, orange, green or purple person. But our "home grown" minorities have been taught that what happened a hundred and fifty years ago means that they either can't possible perform, or shouldn't have to.
Last summer, Glenn Beck cited a problem in Philladelphia, where some black kids were beaten in what the presstitutes wouldn't call a hate crime, but what was left to your imagination to be one. The Philly media bemoaned this beating, and begged for information on the perps (whom you had to assume were white, as the story was presented, but it was never said.) Turns out, it was "African-American" black local teens and a dad, beating up "Nigerian immigrant" black teens, because said kids were outpeforming them in school.
This says everything that anyone needs to know about today's "black community" in the inner city. (And nothing about the blacks smart enough to get out, because they get it.) In the inner-city, race-baited, Jessie Jackson culture, if someone black is smarter than you, or tries harder than you, they are both "dissing" you by showing off, and "not really black" anyway. What is with this? Is there any other group on the planet that we would say, "Hey, it's OK, you can't POSSIBLY achieve anything on your own, even if other people just like you go on to be rich. You'd better settle in and let us give you a pittance of money just to keep you unproductive and addicted to a hand out. And by the way, re-elect democrats who suck up to you at election time, and ignore you the other 364 days of the year."
Let me say what the press is afraid to say...If your "culture" is that people rarely marry, that daddy's probably gone, that grandma is the male role model, that you'll blame the cops for catching your kid stealing or doing drugs, that it is "too white" to hold a regular job that requires you to show up every day, that you don't think it's fair that other people who work hard and sacrifice should have better jobs than you, that "rap music" played way too loud is cool in any way, and that you would rather "be true to your people" than convict a murdering, smarmy, spoiled former football player, then your "culture" is bankrupt. Martin Luthor King, Jr., Harriet Tubbman, George Washington Carver, the guy who invented air conditioning, the guy who invented the way to make serum blood into plasma for storage, and every other black Icon that gets trotted out for black history month ever year would be ashamed that they died trying to advance black culture into something that would impress the rest of the world, only to have hip-hoppy, whiney professional victims squander that greatness in drugs and un-wed sex.
Whew. Gotta go take my meds.
I am so sick of this crud about being victims. More than enough time, money, incentives and handouts have been given out to help. Nothing going on today has ANYTHING to do with slavery. It's a cop-out.
Every other culture has managed to come here and succeed pretty well little or no help. Only one still has "problems".
