The GOP needs to hear that we conservatives roar. When we say NO to amnesty for illegal aliens, they need to get the message. Or there will no amnesty for them in November and they, not the Democrats, will go the way of the Whigs. Let 'em push it. The party has been put on notice.

LEGAL immigration: GOOD

ILLEGAL 'immigration': BAD

I'm pleading with those of you who haven't already joined to join FAIR and NumbersUSA because discussion on this board, albeit cathartic, won't get our senators to get some moral fortitude. Here's a partial message from USA for your consideration and action Friday morning. Our future depends on your demanding a no vote on cloture:

www.NumbersUSA.com

Phone your Senators one last time before the scheduled 9:30 a.m. vote on the Hagel amnesty. The Senate switchboard is 202-224-3121 . Key messages are: "The Hagel/Martinez substitute is 95% of the Judiciary Committee's amnesty that was voted down Thursday. Oppose the Hagel amnesty and vote NO on cloture that would bring the Hagel amnesty to a vote.

"This offers an amnesty path to citizenship for nearly all the illegal aliens in this country. If you vote for cloture, your constituents will know that you have supported amnesty."

In all my years on FreeRepublic, I have not experienced as much despair over our future as I do now. I hope you join these organizations and set the FAXes and telephones burning before the Senate vote takes place.

Thank you . . . Penny

I have been psuedo-blogging, for years, a couple of the elements in WWIV ( III being the Cold War ), in which we find ourselves engaged.

The first element?

Islam, a Religion of Peace®? ( links, blogs, quips, quotes, aggravating pictures ) is located here- click the Pic, and scroll backwards:

The other, somewhat interlocking element is this one:

"Thunder on the Border," click the picture:

The"Mexican Flag Superior, America in Distress" is in the upper left corner...

"The party has been put on notice."

Democrats/Republicans = One Party in Congress & Senate

Conservative Patriots of America are screwed. They have put out our fire in our faces. Apparently our votes are meaningless. I feel like the Kerry fanatics on election eve 2004. We've lost even though we are a majority. My Caucasian daughter has no future in this once great country.

There seems to be a very loud silence from those who think that Bush "JR." and the GOP can do no wrong. History is supposed to be our teacher, with the Dems being the ones who ignore its lessons.

As it turns out, America may be history. But, as the saying goes, "when the going gets tough...."

The GOP can kiss Colorado goodby if amnesty passes. I live in Weld County which has traditionally been a GOP powerhouse. That is why President Bush made a campaign stop here before the last election. Weld County is also a premier destination spot for illelgal aliens.

The last election the Democrats gained a state house seat in Greeley that has aleays been in GOP hands. We also lost our U.S. Senate seat to Ken Salazar, and both the state house and senate to the Democrats. This I am afraid is just the start of the end.

I am going to the Weld County GOP assembly tomorrow. They all want my vote to get on the primary ballot. It is not going to be a joyful GOP party this go round. I have had enough of spineless politicians, and intend to tell them to their face how pissed off I am. Once the illegals are given amnesty, this county will fall into Democrat hands forever and I will kiss the GOP goodby too.

“compromise”

That's the word that has done us in.  True leaders never compromise.  If you are strong, you win.  If you are weak, you lose.

We have compromised everything that America stood for away within the past thirty years.  Law, order, freedom, private property rights and many, many more...with weak leaders who compromise.

Compromise:  I lose a little by giving you a little and you win a little by me giving you a little.  Win, win?  HELL NO!  It's lose, lose.

With each "deal" or "compromise" our "weak kneed" leaders made, American values and culture lost, each and every time.

80% of Americans agree with locking down our borders. They want the law enforced rather than amended. Changing U.S. law in this fashion, without a full and fair public debate, was a cowardly strategy hatched in back room discussions. Waiving illegal aliens through the back fence is simply monumental stupidity. It also raises serious national security issues.

Border jumpers want food stamps, free education, drivers licenses and free medical care. Many carry forged social security cards and fake 'Green Cards.' They have pushed medical care facilities to the edge of bankruptcy in California.

Don Feder's conservative call to arms is appropriate. If more journalists like Mr. Feder push for nationwide protests, people will march in the streets. 500,000 Mexicans protested in La La Land recently. Big deal. Consider the impact of millions of Americans taking to the streets marching in solidarity against border jumpers. What other choice do citizens have when their Congressional Representatives ignore their views? *

Our representatives just sold the people down the river. It's time for the silent majority to be heard!

__________

* Far better to protest now than lay around doing nothing.

That master of politico-babble, Ted Kennedy, called the compromise “tough and fair,” which is like
saying Chappaquiddick was a shinning example of responsible drinking and safe driving.

LOL!   Sweet.

Do you and Feder plan on calling for the return of all the troops home, not just from Iraq, but also from Afghanistan and all the other places where small numbers of Americans are working against the Islamic fascists?
Or does it not matter to you that you and Feder are proposing to hand over the control of our national defense to the Democrats so that we will have neither an immigration policy nor a defense policy?

They and their children, and perhaps their grandchildren, won’t assimilate but be a solvent, eroding our identity as a people, year after year, decade after decade – until, eventually, America comes to be comprised of disparate national groups residing in what used to be a nation.

There's the money line. This is what this debate is and has been about. Feder knocks it out of the park!!

This is a great column. Thanks for posting it. Recently cops raided a Lowell, MA, apt. house, found some 900 illegals crammed in like sardines, but a blanket on a rope divided a corner of one room into a 'documentation' center. They possessed every conceivable US I.D. and the means to fake it. Anything and everything.

We have to deport them, all twenty odd million of them, and then those with jobs waiting for them could apply to return, get fingerprinted and a green card. Everybody else would wait in line like the rest of the world. Period.

Like many conservatives who have supported the Republicans for the last two decades, I am very disappointed in our Republican representatives. We have control of both Congress and the White House, and what have we done with it? Oh sure, they've done some good, but I had much higher expectations.

It seems to me that the Democratic Party, influenced by the fringe left, has made a series of mistakes in recent years. They should be easy pickings. But instead of clobbering them, I fear that we will shoot ourselves in the foot over this Illegal Immigration legislation.

Senate deal is in jeopardy according to AZ Central report hot off the presses. I would have posted the article but for the objections filed against FR.

In part, the report says:

Senate Republicans and Democrats reached a deal Thursday morning on immigration and border security reform, but by nightfall, a bitter partisan fight over how to bring it to a final vote left the plan's future in danger. Hours after announcing a bipartisan agreement to let immigrants who came here illegally earn legal status, leaders of each party accused the other of blocking the immigration bill in a dispute over how to handle amendments by its opponents.

Actually, it’s a blanket amnesty for all 12 million-plus illegals in the United States.

Listen up! Dr. Murdock (sp?), the well-known demographer, said "Look at the schools" to determine the actual percentage of a given ethnicity in a given area. If you do that, the percentage of Hispanics nationwide would have to average to at least 20%. Let's argue that 10% are illegal. 10% of 300 million is 30 million illegals. I'll be nice and agree to compromise at 20 million (probably wrong). That is a LOT more than 12 million. If they pass this, it's over.

MCCAIN will be in N.H. this weekend checking his chances as a candidate and a group of us have decided to go and ask some serious questions. Don't know what good it will do...
