***The state Senate will consider a bill that would require California schools to teach students about the contributions gay people have made to society ***
I guess that would be AIDS? That seems to be their greatest contribution.
Seems kind of tough to teach about a subject where probably the greatest contributions were made by people who were at the time in the closet and wise enough to stay there.

Soon all kids will learn in school is gay history, black history, womens history, asian history, and latino history. They won't have anytime to learn about the founding of this nation or the most important people in our history.

Contributions like what? AIDS, and Jeffery Dahlmer?...CHOMP!
To: CounterCounterCulture
Of course, all manner of people have "contributed" to society. To single out gays in particular without also mentioning liars, murderers, rapists or extortioners seems a little selective to me.
This bill is yet another futile effort for gays to force non-gays to respect their life style and moral framework. By their actions it is obvious that above all, gays want to be accepted as being just plain folks, something that will never happen.

"....teach students about the contributions gay people have made to society...."
Let's see.....AIDS, NAMBLA, child molestation, gonorrhea, syphilis, child porn, child rape/sodomy etc. etc. etc. Please feel free to add to this list.

We're about to learn that most of our important historical figures were closeted gays.
Not sarcasm.

More controversially, it could require that students hear history lessons on ``the contributions of people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender to the economic, political, and social development of California and the United States of America.'' Children, please turn to page 103 in your textbooks. We are going to learn about the societal contributions of Ru Paul.

Fecal (Dont let them pervert the word "gay") contributions to our society:
Global propagation of AIDS plague.
Prolapsed rectums. (don't ask...)
Distrust of the clergy.
Effeminate speech patterns (think npr/pbs announcers)
Bad television. Bad films. Bad music. Ugly art.
Would they please stop contributing this way?
I am sick of their "contributions" to us.

History has proven that a civilization that cannot even define what constitutes normal sexuality will not survive for long. Ancient Rome and Greece providing two examples. When you study primitive societies, you find that the main reason they don't advance is because of their inability or refusal to define normal sexuality.

The state Senate will consider a bill that would require California schools to teach students about the contributions gay people have made to society . . . . Why stop there? Why not require the schools to teach students about the contributions that alcoholics, addicts, and adulterers have made to society?

Between abortion, homosexuality and the occasional flung race card, liberalism in my lifetime has become the "what you do with your sex organ and what color it is" party.I'm a borderline pervert and even I'm sick to death of it. Seriously. As far as I'm concerned the biggest problem with gay people is that they don't know when it's time to stop talking about sex: by and large, they have no concept of conversational boundaries.
By all means have all the butt sex you want, just don't be surprised when the rest of us don't want to worship it in the public square with you.
Sex is not a religion, at it's most acceptably deviant, it's a pastime.
