I could be wrong, but my recollection is that he was provided by a contractor, they did not hire him directly.
He's scum and good for the jury for convicting him. It's only sad we cannot rid the world of him because that would make it a better place. Now we have to feed, clothe, and house him for the rest of his life. Which hopefully will be a short and miserable one.

Why people pick up perfect strangers, about whose background they have no idea, and who aren't insured, is beyond me.
Stick with a licensed, insured contractor
I know more than one of those who hire illegals and who pay them cash off the books. I am in the process of trying to turn one in particular in to authorities, but I have to remain entirely anonymous. This guy will come after me.
Actually, he was not hired by them. He was working for painting contractor who was hired by them.
