It took a jury less than four hours yesterday to convict an illegal immigrant of raping and murdering a vivacious stay-at-home suburban mom - and then luridly bragging about it to her friends and family on her stolen cellphone.
Douglas Herrera Castellanos faces life behind bars without parole at his sentencing next month.
The widower of New City mom-of-two Mary Nagle - who battled tooth and nail before succumbing to the brute in a grisly struggle - burst into tears and wrapped his arms around his sisters-in-law.
Jurors found 30-year-old Herrera guilty of every one of the 15 counts he faced - including first-degree murder and rape........
Rockland County Medical Examiner Lone Thanning told jurors.......she lost part of her ear and tufts of hair in the fight with Herrera.
The most heart-wrenching moment of the two-week trial, however, was widower Dan Nagle's sobbing testimony.....
In lurid, frightening testimony, several women testified how they got phone calls after Nagle's death - made from her cellphone by a caller who spoke lewdly about what had happened to the mom. One of those who got the call was Nagle's own sister.
"He kept saying pornographic, dirty things to me," said Anna Solicito, a friend of Nagle's. "He was very calm, very matter-of-fact, like he enjoyed what he was saying."
Herrera, whose visa expired five years ago.... claimed he couldn't remember a thing - except waking up next to a corpse.

All states should change their laws to dramatically increase penalties for crimes committed by illegals.
How about for all capital crimes.
This native born American murderer of 6(david berkowitz) has been in jail for almost 30 years.

Now here's another way through the illegal jungle: If employers who are officers of publicly-held companies, and their Boards of Directors, are ignoring the fraudulent use of company assets by employing illegals, they are jeopardizing the investments of investors, partners and shareholders. Their accounting figures should also be looked at for possible violations of Sarbanes-Oxley.
The SEC wants to know about these infractions.

Uh nope I supported Kyl/Cornyn which said that if they wanted citizenship, they would have to go back to their home countries and apply and go to the back of the line.

Well anyway, tancredo will be happy, IMO, the bill will die in conferance, and tancredo and bay buchanan can still get the bucks for their PAC, by keeping the issue "alive".

We shouldn't allow ourselves to fall into the trap of calling these villains "immigrants". "Immigrants" they are not. They are illegal invaders- criminals. By referring to them as "immigrants", our opponents attempt to paint us as anti-immigration nativists which doesn't fly with the mass of Americans besides besides being incorrect.
Nobody opposes honest, hardowrking people who come here legally and follow our laws to do so. THEY are not the problem.
The problem is the illegal invaders, border-sneaks, line-jumpers, predominantly, but not exclusively from Senor Fox's domain.
The left ALWAYS tries to redifine terminology ("far-right-wing extremists" instead of conservative, "moderate" instead of liberal or left-wing commie pinko) in order to gain points in an argument.

Harry Reid and the Senate Democrats don't believe we should take the possibility of citizenship away from illegal felons, so they killed an amendment to the immigration bill that would have kept this fine gentleman from having the opportunity to become a US citizen. We will house, feed, medicate and no doubt educate this vermin in prison for the next 50 years, while the young widower struggles to raise his two little children alone. Back in the days when there was justice in America, this human debris would be hanged.

He was a day laborer the Nagles brought in to do work around the house.
Why people pick up perfect strangers, about whose background they have no idea, and who aren't insured, is beyond me.

I know more than one of those who hire illegals and who pay them cash off the books. I am in the process of trying to turn one in particular in to authorities, but I have to remain entirely anonymous. This guy will come after me.
Are legal immigrants and illegal criminal aliens the same in your book? I don't think this is what you mean but I just want to be sure.
Good luck. Keep your head down. We need to engage in more 'vigilante' action such as what you're doing. I know of a couple of people who were contractors, who wouldn't hire illegals, who quit the business because they couldn't compete.
Actually, he was not hired by them. He was working for painting contractor who was hired by them.
