Yet, our current immigration system is broken.

The system is not broken...its just not being enforced...and why should the American people believe that if the laws are "reformed", the new laws will be enforced?

we must have a comprehensive immigration plan that toughens our borders, documents illegal immigrants, and provides for American labor needs.

Translation: Amnesty.

Beware of the word "comprehensive".

Please call them INVADERS and don't compare them to people who are legal aliens!

IF you aid and abet CRIMINALS, you are a criminal!

President Bush has been great on most things except for our border.
He has been great on the war on terrorists.
But on the border he is a gross failure.
He acted fast and correct on the 3,000+ people murdered at the world trade center.
He ignores the many rapes, murders and robberies which might be larger than the murders and money loss at the world trade center.
More Americans are abducted on the border of Mexico than in Iraq!

Start building the fence.

It should be made a felony for Criminals who overstay their visas and Invaders.

I believe we should give amnesty to these poor CRIMINALS or INVADERS.
This should be a 2 week amnesty to get the heck out of our Country.
The ones who ignore this amnesty should be buried in a tent city jail and fined $10,000 or buried elsewhere.
All aiders and abettors of these CRIMINALS or INVADERS should get 1 year in a tent city jail and a $10,000 fine for each CRIMINAL aided.
Those in government should be the first ones charged.

It is not good for American workers and businesses.

Right on the former. But as for the latter, the system works great for those profiting from cheap labor, whose water you are carrying, Senator.

Congrats on getting him to answer you. I've emailed and set snail mail but he must not like me as well.

Maybe it's because I'm always telling him I want him replaced by a Conservative and that I'm never going to vote for his RINO @$$ again....but who knows?

guest worker program limited to approximately 400,000 people per year and a way to document and provide legal status for immigrants

That plus 12,000 new agents has to have a cost. Congress doesn't often pass a Bill without attached fiscal note. A way to document and provide legal status would also have to involve additional hires as well as printing several carloads of new forms. Enforcement seems to be lacking altogether, as it would also involve additional agents, i.e., budget.

If the "immigration system is broken" (as we are repeatedly told) then we need to find out who broke it and hold him (them) to account for letting the country be invaded.

Compare with letter (BS) from Feinstein:

Dear Lee : Thank you for writing me about a possible blanket amnesty. I appreciate hearing from you.

I do not support blanket amnesty for illegal immigrants. As the daughter of a Russian immigrant, I understand the hope and the optimism with which countless others view our country. I believe America is rooted in a tradition of newcomers working hard and building a better life for themselves and their families.

We must balance this tradition, however, with our ability to integrate new immigrants into the American society that follow the proper channels to legal immigration. Our ability to accept immigrants and our immigration policy must support and strengthen families, create economic opportunities, increase scientific and cultural resources, and fulfill humanitarian commitments.

Again, thank you for writing to me. If you have any further questions or comments on this or any other issue, please do not hesitate to call my Washington, D.C. staff at (202) 224-3841.

Sincerely yours,

Dianne Feinstein United States Senator

"The bill also includes a guest worker program limited to approximately 400,000 people per year and a way to document and provide legal status for immigrants already here. " In other words: AMNESTY.

But it all depends on the definition of a "blanket" amnesty. Sort of Clinton's definition of "is".
I have the same lying letter in my inbox.
McSwine's staff tried to convince me that her vote wasn't really for an amnesty.

Must be a blanket letter they all share. Here's the one I received from Senator Bayh:

Thank you for contacting me regarding H.R. 4437, the Border Protection, Antiterrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005. I appreciate your thoughts and concerns on this issue.

As you may know , H.R. 4437 was introduced in the House of Representatives on December 6, 2005. This legislation seeks to construct new security fences, increase the number of guards and detention facilities, and utilize military technology along the United States-Mexican border. It would also require employers to check the immigration status of their workers, eliminate the visa diversity lottery, and discontinue judicial review of visa revocation.

H.R. 4437 passed in the House by a vote of 239 to 182 on December 16, 2005. It was forwarded to the Senate and will be designated to the Senate Committee on the Judiciary. Please rest assured, should this or similar legislation come before the full Senate for consideration, I will keep your views in mind.

Again, thank you for contacting me. I hope the information I have provided is helpful. My website, http://bayh.senate.gov , can provide additional details about legislation and state projects, and you can also sign up to receive my monthly e-newsletter, The Bayh Bulletin , by clicking on the link at the top of my homepage. I value your input and hope you will continue to keep me informed of the issues important to you.

Office of Senator Evan Bayh

12,000 new agents has to have a cost. Congress doesn't often pass a Bill without attached fiscal note.

These jerks just keep going around in circles. Adding 10,000 new Border Patrol agents (at 2,000 per year starting in 2006) has been the law since December 2004. (Not that it's been funded or implemented.)

Dec. 17, 2004: National Intelligence Reform Act Requires 10,000 New Border Patrol Agents - The National Intelligence Reform Act signed into law by Bush included the requirement to add 10,000 border patrol agents.

In February of 2005 Bush's proposed budget for fiscal year 2006 called for funding only 210 new border agents.

June 17, 2005: Cornyn/Kyl Bill Proposes Adding 10,000 Border Agents -- Sen. John Cornyn and Sen. Jon Kyl ... expect to introduce legislation next month. They said in May that the $5 billion bill also would propose adding 10,000 agents along U.S. borders and a guest-worker program.

March 28, 2006 - DeWine calls for 12,000 additional border agents.

Sorry , DeWine, you're out to lunch.

We don’t need an ‘immigration’ bill. We need and want a border security and illegal aliens bill. An immigration/guest worker bill can come after that is done.

This is not about workers rights or fair immigration policies. It has to do with international communist/socialist orgs looking to gain the political upperhand in the U.S..

Posted by JeffHead Jeff links to Mexica.org's 'after protest' pic fest. You can see there what the marchers thought they were marching for.

A poster for Friday’s march. March 31. This poster lists the Latino orgs that are promoting the protests. They are all communist/socialist front orgs.

Here is my analysis of what is going on behind the scenes.

Here is some evidence that 'amnesty' increases illegal entries. These people knew before the demonstrations that the time was ripe.

Smith Act of 1940 This is the U.S. statute that ought to apply to the organized gathering of tens of thousands of foreign nationals calling for the overthrow of our country.

H.R. 4437 At this link you will find a good exegesis of the only bill that doesn't offer some type of amnesty/pathway to citizenship/excuses for illegal entry. It is harsh on employers but has reasonable protections for employers who verify documents that are later shown to be false. It explains that the databases necessary are already in place. It provides for border security.

Understand that the provision that the protesters say is 'racist,' that makes illegals felons, was inserted by the Dems a short time ago. That clarifies why Hillary happened to discover the immigration issue a week before the marches. Why she demonized Republicans as "making Jesus a criminal."

Keep in mind just who organized these protests. Who provided the tens of thousands of T-shirts, the thousands of professionally made signs, the hours and hours of promotion on Spanish language radio and TV stations. It has been noticed that Islamic orgs names and logos appear on some of these signs as well. Remember that NEA teachers and adminstrators are the ones who have assisted the march organizers by providing bussing for their students, hoisting Mexican flags at school and overlooking the truancy.

Don't forget that the last two Presidential elections were nearly 50/50. Think about how our Congress is looking for a way to appease these foreign nationals through legilation. No election necessary. The outcome of legalizing 11 million illegals and encouraging more to come will be a solid lock for the left forevermore in national elections.

Mexico is Rich- Mexican wealthy play American taxpayers for suckers

Good thread for any that missed it. It should really make you mad.

Every dollar spent in U.S. taxes for social services for illegal aliens frees up additional cash to be sent south as part of the annual remittances which provided $20 billion in 2005. According to the CNN news show Lou Dobbs Tonight (3/21/05), "Remittances, as they're called, are expected to become Mexico's primary source of income this year, surpassing the amount of money that Mexico makes on oil exports for the first time ever."
