"I wonder where he was going with an IED in Lubbock Texas?"

Perhaps he was merely going fishing.

Patrol officers observed Jeremy Lynn Womack of Lubbock acting suspiciously and pulled him over

That's pretty vague. I wonder what he did that made them suspicious?

or was this another case of Aryan profiling?

Knowing those idiots he was probably carrying it around to impress his buddies.

Lubbock is pretty far from Crawford, so I don't think that was his objective -- thank goodness.

Garcia said the bomb Womack possessed was considered live because it was comprised of a container, powder and a firing device. Explosives such as these are easily detonated by shock, friction or heat.

A bullet?

Seriously, in the olden days, these were called mere "pipe bombs" (and I'm guilty of making a few myself...not for nefarious purposes, but just to make holes and pretty explosions. Calling them IED's makes them sound much meaner.

This man is not only dangerous to himself but to the public. We should make sure that the judge offers no bail. Cannot afford to allow this "terrorist" to be allowed back on the streets. (Anyone that has or builds a IED is a terrorist in my book)

>>>It is unknown why Womack was carrying explosives, Garcia said. <<<

With a steel trap mind like this, Garcia needs to be moved over to head up the Investigative Detective Unit!

OK, Womack was gong to blow up a tree stump in his back yard - sorry for my overly suspicious nature.

In the "opinion" of the officers there was suspicious activity. They said the dog, in their "opinion", indicated the presence of drugs. Were there drugs found or was this simply a pretext to search the car?

Does this mean that police officers can search anyone's car if in their "opinion" there is reason to?

Where are the the defenders of the fourth ammendment?

"They rarely have no legitimate purpose except to maim and hurt people.

So he considers maiming and hurting people to be a legitimate purpose for having a pipe bomb? I'm not sure he said what he meant to say there.
