I think politics started getting less civilized when we called the campaign coffers "War Chests".

I'd gladly send Swann some money, if it weren't for the fact that it would cause a future flood of "gimme money" mail and phone calls from other candidates, PACs, and 527 groups all over the country.

Swann is ahead or very competitive in every poll despite being behind in the money race. If he is able to raise more $$ and be more competitive in that regard, it makes the election that much more winnable.

"...a future flood of "gimme money" mail and phone calls from other candidates, PACs, and 527 groups all over the country." I understand where you're coming frim, but I see that as a small price to pay for better leadership, less taxes, and more freedom than the redistributionist Left tends to give us. And that's not even taking into account the current corruption in Harrisburg.

As Kerry found out in 2004, it isn't all about money. Swan is a really good candidate and that comes across when you see him. I predict he will win, regardless how much slime all Rendell's money buys.

Money is necessary to run a campaign, but it has been demonstrated over and over, that money doesn't win elections.
