ONE thing that really hit me at a bad time was hearing a FEMALE congresscritter [Bela Pelosi, (Facelift, CA)? Diane Feinstein, (Iraq War Profiteer-CA)?] moan that it's going to wreck our economy if we got rid of all the ILLEGAL ALIENS™. (Just paraphrasing, you understand.):
"Who will mow the lawns? Who will cook and clean? Who will watch the children?" (Like enforcing the borders would hurt the women and children worst....)
Why, when I was a kid, these were called ENTRY LEVEL or TEENAGER or AFTER-SCHOOL jobs.
And yes, we WALKED to these jobs. Uphill. Both ways. And we were GLAD to have these jobs! And it snowed a lot more then, too....
