He makes me extremely nervous. I seriously think he's mentally ill from his time as a POW. As a fellow vet, I sincerely appreciate his sacrifice, but to me, he has that simmering rage just beneath the surface, ala Hillary.

I agree. There is something about him . . . like he will blow any minute. I think he is dangerous and not Presidential material.

The article didn't seem to want to make it clear whether they were attacking McCain from the left or the right.

I wonder why?

Dane raises his ugly anti-Americanism again. He loves the illegals and hates conservatives & Christians. He pulls out obscure facts and I can tell you sure as shootin he has obscured or somehow altered his "facts" to make a statement that is most likely untrue in the context in which he quoted it. He is a troll... make no mistake about it

IMO, you are raising your fatalistic nihilsitic pat standard talking points(i.e ad hominems) with your above.

Most of America opposes the Supreme Court's Kelo decision on taking private land. The Republicans didn't propose any legislation to reverse it.

That was a big fat pie from the left that the R's just let rot. What a waste.

The ignorant think it was the conservatives who made that ruling, and the R's did nothing to make them think different.

I think they don't want the public to know that the unions were attacking McCain from the right.

Why is it that Dems/union people have no manners?

Maybe it's because they are tired of being lied to?

I don't take to kindly to it....They probably don't either.

The immigration issue may be a golden opportunity for the reps to get some unions on their side.

They're gonna need them. They've lost us.

But you have a good point. The few republicans that seem to have their senses on this issue could do well against a democrat that is siding with the illegals.

Exactly! I live in the central valley of Calif. Huge agriculture! Apparently everything is exported because everytime I go to the store all the fruits and veggies are imported. Heck I could care less what our lettuce costs!

Well of course Esquire, Congressmen tancredo, didn't intetnionally or knowingly hire illegal aliens to refininsh his basement(he hired the contractor). There has been enough parsing by the tancredo fans on FR that would make hillary blush, my point is that it has been documented in the media that tom tancredo's home theater in his basement was mostly built by people with first names such as Jose, and all I am saying is if that Mr. tancredo were true to his political rhetoric he would invite the TV cameras he loves(ala mccain, hows that for irony) and with a sledgehammer destroy the work done by "illegal" labor.

Hey, Dane tell my why exactly he should destroy work he has already paid for. Why should he destroy his house? Because he hired a contractor that did something questionable? That's as stupid as saying I shouldn't drink oramge juice because it was farmed by a farmer who hired illegals.

Oh, and I'm still waiting for that list of laws I can ignore.

Dane Straw Man alert. Dane, instead of telling us about Rep. Tancredo's basement, perhaps you could convince us that it is in the interests of the United States to have an Open Border (or whatever it is that you believe). I suspect that since you cannot credibly argue that massive illegal immigration is in our interests, you go about raising and knocking down Straw Men for lack of better things to do.

McCain insisted none of them would do such menial labor for a complete season. "You can't do it, my friends."

Sure thing, John. When I was in college, I worked in a shop cutting plastic parts, I worked on a road construction crew on I-80 in Bridger Valley, Wyoming, and I worked in a cheese factory. Tell me more about jobs that Americans won't do, egghead.

Companies love Mexican labor not only because they'll work for pennies, but the company can also stiff them on their last paycheck and the illegals have no recourse. It's real easy to screw a guy over when he's afraid to go to the authorities because he's afraid of being deported.

McCain was actually a pretty good guy once. But when he hit Washington, he left his good principles at the front door. Mr. Keating Five proved that he can be bought.

I assure you, the nonunion guys I know will be just as insulted by McCaniac's slur against American workers as their union counterparts were.

From a non-union electrician, I'm very insulted not only at his comments, but at the fact that McCain is the best the GOP can come up with for '08.

If you want me to pick lettuce or flip burgers for $50.00/hr I'd gladly sign up , it beats what me or anyone else I know is making. $50.00/hr by my calculations thats $100k / year!!!! Sign me up Mr Straight-Talk!!!!

You've got him pegged, Plutarch. Dane's pro-immigration "arguments" all boil down to either "agree with me or you're a racist bigot," or "agree with me or you're a stupid liar." He doesn't seem to realize that if all he has to offer are personal attacks, he's already lost the argument.

McCain is an Idiot.

The price of lettuce is made up of a lot of things.

According to Dept of Agriculture, the cost of labor for lettuce is 7% retail price. IOW, if you paid $1 for lettuce, the laborers got 7 cents. Increase the pay from $5/hour to $50 hour would increase the price of lettuce from $1/lbs. to $1.70/lbs.

Another Fact, there are 1.5 million farm payroll laborers in the USA. There are 11 million illegals. What are the other 9.5 million doing?

Finally, how many US citizens are picking lettuce right now? I bet thousands are.

You think that kind of brutish behavior is justified in our political culture? The Dems certainly show no civility; I'm saddened to see people on the right sink to their level.

You dang straight mister... when you are dealing with someone who is a POS such as McCain anything is fair game. The Rats are so evil being civil with these beasts don't work. Thanks for the feedback pardner and keep your powder dry for in the future you are going to need it....
