Nothing happens. The issue becomes another one for both sides to politicize. We get nothing but a fractured GOP. Sometimes, I think that is what some in the party want.

Pressure should be applied to the powers that be to enforce the laws already on the books if they do nothing this year. For example, hiring an illegal is already a crime and comes with heavy fines.

Lettuce is $1/lbs. If lettuce pickers are now paid $3/hour and if you raise their pay to $15/hour thats an increase of 500%.

That will increase a lb. of lettuce from $1/lbs. to $1.35/lbs.

Nothing will happen to the illegals. Jorge and Vicente have already shaken hands on that. We will continue to be forced to support them and those that come after them unless we elect Senators and Reps (and a President) who will actually represent American citizens and start enforcing THE EXISTING LAWS.

I've been living and working legally in the U.S. for almost 12 years and I am still waiting for my green card application to be processed. There is no way these law breakers should be granted green cards when legal immigrants can't get them as easily as McCain and Kennedy propose!

Of course I would add onto maximum enforcement....NO BENEFITS, period!

That is the one that would send them packing. However, the Catholic Church in my area would burn our town down if we tried to do something like that. The leaders of our churches have sold their souls to Mexican take over, but not the members. Most are furious.
