Kathmandu: Fourth-graders in Nepal wouldnt have to study math if the countrys communist rebels took control. But they would learn how to make bombs and grow vegetables.
Nepals Maoist rebels, fighting a decade-old insurgency against the monarchy, now have influence in nearly every district of this country of 27 million people, and citizens increasingly are wondering how their life would change if the rebels actually took power.
So a group of Nepalese teachers made a low-profile visit recently to three model schools run by the Maoists.
The rebels say the schools provide the ideal communist education.
The stress was on military education: What is a bomb? How to blast it. How to carry out attacks. This was the main part of the curriculum in the fourth and fifth classes, said Babu Ram Adhikari, general-secretary of the Nepal National Teachers Association, Nepals largest with 72,000 members.
Maths is not compulsory until the fifth grade. English is also optional. But military science is compulsory, Adhikari said. The insurgents insist the children are only taught ideology, not forced to fight.
Nearly 13,000 people have been killed in the rebellion.
Maoist Education Ping
Bet that the Chinese are paying for the education.
Communists gone wild PING
They're being taught how to make Hollywood films?
Those commie b@st@rds!!
At least Chinese are good in math. The Nepali commies are dumb as rock, lowest pieces of shit imaginable.
There's gotta be a better way to make a tossed salad...
Socialist/Communist Ping!
Yes, but can they put condoms on cucumbers like our kids can?
Think this is scary? You should see what lefties are teaching 4th graders in the United States. :)
They are in the same camp as Soviet communists are to Russia.
Communism either evolves or dies. China was primitive communism, but that did not put them anywhere. Later, they adopted government dominated capitalism. That is working good so far, but for how long? Government cannot control for long. They will evolve to more privatized capitalism, or collapse.
Nepalese commies are in the frisky state and are experimenting with Mao's communism. Start with the children. Brianwash them with idiotic communist BS. Then you've got a generation of communist morons.
Gorbachev was trying to push in this direction, though. Now, Putin is trying the same thing, but without the communist symbols.
We know what would happen if the Maoists win. An exact repeat of what happened in Cambodia. And for a long time whoever the main killer turns out to be will be a hero among fashionable leftists safe in the West.
This has been going on for quite sometime on a low level (rebels in the hills, Marxist leadership in the city of Bahtgaon (SP), etc.), but it really took up steam after the assassination of King Bahendra and the succession of his brother Gyanendra. The new king was percieved as weak and he has tended to be reactionary. I agree with you, though, we should be way more proactive. Maybe send some SF types in there to get blooded.
actually, nepalese maoists regularly show up in new delhi for meetings and hold press events. I have no idea why the indian government lets that happen when they are fighting maoists of their own. I think there is a lot more to this than meets the eye.
