Terri Schiavo’s Brother Says Disabled Regularly Killed by Withholding Food, Water

MARYLAND, United States, April 3, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In an interview with John Lofton of the American View, Terri Schiavo's brother, Bobby Schindler, said his family is fighting to stop the ongoing murder of disabled people in America.

"There's a powerful and strong death movement occurring in our country," said Mr. Schindler.

"We are removing feeding tubes from people every single day, and killing them, but nobody seems to care - it doesn't seem to disturb anybody, that we're starving and de-hydrating people to death."

He said such killing is possible because there is a belief among those who advocate it that the disabled are worthless and have no value.

Michael Schiavo and the people working for him, obviously killed Terri because she was disabled, because they believed she had no worth, because they believed she had no quality of life, and this perfectly justified to them to kill her in this manner.”

“Instead of loving and caring and showing her compassion they looked at my sister as being an inconvenience. And therefore, ended her life…we have to stay focused and try to change what’s happening in our country.”

Terri's brother said it makes no difference what arguments Michael Schiavo produces to try and defend his actions, because nothing will change the truth that his sister was murdered.

“This is why our family is fighting, why our family created our foundation – to try and stop this from happening to other families.”

“[That is] the reason we created this foundation, and why our family is continuing to do what we can to stop this horrible thing that’s happening to our disabled and hopefully God willing, we’ll continue and expose this movement and change the laws and protect the disabled, because right now they’re very vulnerable to what’s happening – we saw with my sister and hopefully we can stop it from happening in the future.”

The Schindler's need to use the word murder every time they speak of Terri's death; were it not for a greedy husband trying to cover-up his own crimes and the evil Culture of Death, Terri would be alive today.

There's a fuzzy boundary near there: if I were in agony, I'd take pain killers, even knowing that they hastened the end.

Yep, it happens everyday! I have actually seen it for myself! My friends dad had a massive stroke and although he was clinging to life and pretty much gone, he wasn't brain dead and if they had just removed life support but kept feeding him he would have lived longer and maybe improved. But again, I wasn't his doctor and my friend made this hard decision. I was there when he died and he did go peacefully and he was given water after the feeding tube was pulled which is quite different than what happend to Terri. My friends dad died only a week after the feeding tube was pulled.

I believe the only people who should be considered no food is someone who is actually within minutes, hours, or a short few days away from death. People who are not dying and just are brain damaged, PVS, etc...shouldn't be starved to death.

My grandfather lay dying from cancer and had hours to live. We did not feed him. He was unconscious and didn't even know what was happening. But we at least put water drops on his tounge! They did not do this for Terri, she got not even the slightest bit of water on her tounge. Even people who have had feeding tubes pulled are put water on their tounges to moisten them a bit. So sad this happens.

I think there needs to be reform on feeding tubes and when they should be pulled and when they shouldn't.

Sad, but true. We regularly kill humans at both ends of our lifespan because they are inconvenient and/or use up resources "better spent" on others.

My friend who founded the NATIONAL AMERICAN HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL, and has been in the medical field for over 25 years has been saying this for a long while. It's bad and getting worse.

Yes, Terri was murdered, and we will never forget, especially come election time.

picture of Terri a couple of years after the accident. Does this look like a vegetable? This picture was taken a couple years after the "accident" - before all therapy was forbidden.

the medical profession in America uses a high dose of Morphine to kill their patients.

Excellent comments, Halls. You have pulled the two issues of natural and artificial apart, as they should be.

I went back and penned an addition to my Advance Directive, which is very long and as full an explanation as I could make it: "Put chocolate on my lips."

I'm aware of that, but "high dose" is misleading. Euthenasia is illegal in the US--we're by no means talking about an overdose here. These are cases that essentially a normal dose of morphine suppresses the breathing reflex, resulting in death. That's why doctors get away with it. They can plausibly deny that the death of the patient was their intent (even though it is).

In exactly that case, I'd probably take the morphine. The alternative is a slightly longer life in great pain.

The only disabled people popular among politicians and cruel citizens in shameless America are those still "able" to vote!

Also the average American is as clueless about feeding tubes as he is about most everything else.
