GILLETTE, Wyo. -- Jeffrey Doles wants his bongs back.
He owns a store in Gillette, Wyo., called Hip Hop Hippie. Doles has been acquitted of drug paraphernalia charges.
Now, he wants authorities to return about 130 brightly colored pipes and bongs that were confiscated when he was arrested last summer.
But prosecutors said they'll file a civil lawsuit seeking permission to destroy the items. Doles charges prosecutors are just mad because they didn't win the criminal case against him.
About 130 pipes and bongs were confiscated from the store on Aug. 10. Doles was arrested two days later after reopening the store with an even larger inventory. He was charged with delivery of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession with intent to deliver drug paraphernalia.
A jury found Doles not guilty and the charges were dismissed.
Of course people only smoke tobacco with these and they are sold only to smoke tobacco.
So if he's not guilty, shouldn't he get his property back?

I think he should get his stuff back. Fair's fair.
He's been found not guilty in a court of law. It doesn't matter WHAT he or someone else smokes in them. The case wasn't made, he's not guilty, he gets his property back.
End of story.
Oh of course unless you want this being used against others for something like Guns.

Yes. Of course some here only want property taken away from people if it interferes with their own moral code. Otherwise, it's all bad. Hypocrisy is at all levels and political parties.
I hate drugs and I've never used them. If he was found not guilty he should have his property returned.
Having said that, I have never known of anyone to smoke tobacco from a bong. They are explicitly used for drugs and their sale should be banned.
They're not bongs. Bongs are used for weed. They're "water pipes".
