Mexico has always been (technically) a Socialist state, and it functions like one: a crummy economy, no opportunities for the non-wealthy, and a huge, corrupt bureaucracy sitting on top of everything. Furthermore, Mexico has always prided itself on being anti-American.

I doubt that much would change with Mexico, except that this candidate has the backing of Hugo Chavez and this would be seen in LatAm as another grand slam by Hugo. And this would not be a good thing, since we have been "dealing" with Hugo by ignoring him and hoping he'll just fade away. He won't, and he's even less likely to do so once he gets into Mexico.

The sky is falling, the sky is falling...let us not get anyone any angrier at us--doomed, we are doomed!!!
Please get over this nonsence, we are the most powerful most patience nation that has ever been in existance, a nation made up of so many nationalities that I would venture to say the worlds lanquages are spoke here every day.
We are not exercising our might as the most powerful nation in the world as have other in similar situation in times past, we do not take territory by force, we do not attack at will, we give as far as I am concerned too many warnings to those wishing us harm.
With us willing to sign so many free trade agreements from Cafta to Nafta we are proving we are not out to isolate ourselves, rather other countries wish to isolate themselves from us, let Mexico do what it wishes, let Venezuela, Peru and others do likewise, a socialist government in Mexico will cause a wall to go up much faster, our being cut off from petroleum exporting countries, will cause either our own oil fields to be open or an alternate fuel invented sooner.
We are very slow to action but once we start watch out.
