Yah, you really don't understand the problem. There's a difference between refugees and migrant workers.
And I never called Asians who come in boats 'invaders'. That's stupid hyperbole that's used by the anti-immigration crowd to discuss Mexico, and I don't think it's a fair term at all.
If Cambodia were south of the border instead of Mexico, I'd favor increased guest workers from them as well. If we had 12 million illegal Cambodians here, the vast majority of whom were honest, decent, had jobs and were law abiding in every way but their immigration status, I would favor them paying a fine and being able to move towards citizenship. Matter of fact, if there ARE any Cambodians here under that set of circumstances, I still favor exactly that.
It just so happens, however, that Cambodia is on the other side of the globe, and Mexico is next door.
If illegals have been here longer than 10 years,
speak English,
had a job in demand and not wanted by a native born citizen,
and own real estate
and they agree to a fine,
pay income taxes for those 10 years,
and renounced their citizenship to foriegn country,
then OK.
But the rest can go home.
