Forest Mims is a straight up genius. I have almost ALL of his circuit books.
I haven't heard much from him since the two good electronic mags went under.
It doesn't really go into it but is Mims against this whackjob who wants to kill off 90% of the world's population? I certainly hope so. The distinguished prof can say the line forms behind him and kick off the cleanse of the planet by starting with himself. Of course he probably thinks the 10% left will need his guidance.

Mims notes five hours later, the Texas Academy of Science presented Pianka with a plaque in recognition of his being named 2006 Distinguished Texas Scientist. "When the banquet hall filled with more than 400 people responded with enthusiastic applause, I walked out in protest," he writes.
Mims walked out, so I would say he is against this psycho.

Forest Mims is a straight up genius. I have almost ALL of his circuit books. I, too, spent a lot of time (back in the 70s) with Forest Mims books. The books were certainly intelligent and thoughtful presentations that brought electronics within the reach of technically competent laymen. I had huge respect for him although, truth be told, I had little real knowledge of him beyond his technically interesting and pleasantly presented technology articles. My inclination would certainly be to trust him and his judgment.
