Intentionally?
I had not heard that.

Interesting, interesting. Under no circumstances will I believe that the posters on this thread, if they drive, have not run a stop sign or red light sometime in their lives. If you've driven for any length of time, it
has happened, whether you realized it the time or drove on, blissfully ignorant of the signal you just missed. The
ONLY reason someone wasn't in
your path when it happened had nothing to do with your rightous dilligence as a driver (since you were already out of control of your compliance with traffic laws) and
everything to do with the Grace of God.
So instead of humbly declaring "there but for the Grace of God go I," we grab the stones we always have handy and look for someone to cast them at.

It was an ACCIDENT.Just in case you and others haven't noticed, there are no "accidents" anymore (unless, of course it involves some govt. employee in a govt. vehicle).
They're all "crashes" now.

Poor Ashley. Usually you have to pay Planned Parenthood to have 2 children killed. And here, she's going to have to spend 30 whole days in jail! Maybe it was because she didn't pay Planned Parenthood.

/Sarcasm, but is that really needed here?

Thirty days for murdering two babies?
WTF? It was an ACCIDENT.
Should Laura Bush should be in prison too?
It wasn't an accident. once Townsend drove through that red light it was a crime.
Then she lied about the circumstances to the police.
The Laura Bush comment is just stupid.

This being Florida, I'm surprised she wasn't tried for capital murder(and she should have been.)That's ridiculous. Capital murder requires premeditation. Vehicular homocide is the proper term for what happened here, but I think that 30 days in jail and then probation is way too lenient a sentance for two deaths.

From the Sunday online edition of the Bloomington (IL) Pantagraph; Flick's Picks.
'In Kenosha, Wis., critics knocked a prosecutor's decision not to charge a 19-year-old who was talking on her cell phone when her car crossed the center line and struck a car being driven by a 25-year-old man who died. She was levied a $361 fine.'

I can't help but notice your lucid, well thought out post gives absolutely no consideration or thought towards the enormous suffering of the parents of the two children, and the loss they have no choice but to endure every day for the rest of their lives.
Two years from now, Ms. Townsend will have successfully pushed this incident into the back recesses of her mind, never to dwell on it again. Ten years from now, the parents of Anjelica and Victoria Velez will still continue to suffer through their enormous loss.
Justice was not served here. Then again, justice cannot be served here; it is simply not possible.

It is obvious from your post that you too have no idea what it means to truly forgive. For your sake I hope you never have to learn . . .

I forgive you for being a vindictive , revenge crazed Madd mother type. Now go back to your bible and try to comprehend what is written there.

You're right; it was an accident. Ms. Townsend didn't mean to kill Anjelica and Victoria.
OK girls, you can come up from your graves now . . .

Sometimes bad things happen to good people. That is part of life. No one understands why. You move on.

WE ARE NOT WORTHY! Your a frikkin idiot. All that because I happen to think that a person who mows down 2 babies while running a red light should be punished. Hopefully you'll never have to bury any babies from another persons reckless driving. Unfortunately way too many people do.

The operative word is accident. An unplanned event.
Thank God people like you rarely get to be in charge or it would be "The Spanish Inquisition" style of torture for everyone.

I think I did give them some thought. Like I said, I think there's a valid argument to be made that a longer sentece would have been more appropriate to make society (and the parents) feel better. So it's fine if that's the reason behind your notion that she should be imprisoned for a greater period, I just think that's the only theory upon which locking her up for a longer period of time makes any sense.

Whatever dude, I don't consider running a red light an accident it was a willful act she had to make a decision to not stop as required by law. But if it makes you feel better to justify the deaths of 2 children by claiming it was an accident go for it but your attacks on me won't change my mind.

Ashley dated a good friend of mine for two years and cheated on him. The one time I rode in her car I thought I was going to die, Im not suprised she ran over two kids. She is not the sweetheart that everyone makes her out to be. My $.02
