Then I should probably get a good deal on the Excursion I'm looking to buy for my wife.
Umm, ADD additives, price goes up. Take out (don't ADD additives) price goes up. Yeah right. Blackbird.
I paid $2.72 the other day at the cheap place!
I guess the obvious question is, how much if you had waited until dinnertime?
But the problem began way back in 1973 when the first embargo of oil began under Gerald Ford. Then Little Jimmy Carter really screwed things up with the Iranians,(and his plans to ration gas). The price has been going up since. So has the wages to pay for them.
That's crap because under Clinton it was 99 cents. What are you blaming old Republicans for when it is current Repubicans?
No, no, you're not supposed to point things like that out. First it was 'win the House' and things will change, then 'win the White House', well you get the picture. Now both branches of the Legislative branch, as well as the Executive branch are under control of Republicans. Expect 2006 to have some RNC mantra of winning a 'super majority' in the Senate for things to really change.
One would hope by now, even the most dense of voters could see there isn't much of a difference between the parties. The arguing over whether something should be done is over. Now they just bicker over how much the chosen item should be done
bump for later
Great! Just in time for hurricane season! ;-)
Ford did not become President until August 9, 1974. Nixon was in during "energy crisis 1".
Totally false statement and intentionally so.
Check any of the votes in Congress over the past decades and you'll see a difference between parties.
I won't provide the details because I know you don't care. You want to spread the lie because you're an irrelevant third party type.
You hope we're dense. No such luck.
The bitching is also free, so, I'll continue to do so.
LOL, oh yes. What issue should we choose? Government spending? Immigration? Social security? Medicare? Please just let me know which issue to pick. Republicans and Democrats only disagree on the level of spending or level of intrusion. They don't pick opposing views, as one would expect from parties that claim such a difference, just on when and how the citizens of the respective states deserved to be screwed over yet again.
I won't provide the details because I know you don't care.
Oh, no. Please do. Please enlighten such a 'lost soul' as myself on the difference between the parties. But let's not stop at the votes shall we? Let's look at what the participants were saying. Many of those 'no' votes Republicans hold so dear are votes because a bill did or didn't go too far. It's not that they disagree with the issue of the bill, it's just they wanted their special touch on it.
You want to spread the lie because you're an irrelevant third party type.
Ah, yes, prove me wrong then. You won't be able to, but give it the ol' college try eh?
You hope we're dense. No such luck.
Oh I make no claim that all are dense. But those special few, the 'true believers' in party over principle? Dumb as dirt and there's not a bit of help for the lot.
***Ford did not become President until August 9, 1974. Nixon was in during "energy crisis 1".***
thanks. I must have been wrong. I remember that I was at the Farmer's market in Bloomfield, NM that day. The STAR tabloid had on it's cover in BIG letters, "JEAN DIXON SAYS NIXON WILL NOT RESIGN.
This was on the very day Nixon resigned.
In fact at my local gas/convenience store gas is 2.60 a gallon while the cheap brand of bottled water works out to about 4.50 a gallon.
L
$2.89 for regular at the station near State Rd 101/I-74 in s.e. IN !!!
Why didn't I buy a diesel ?
Tax cuts. Any difference between the parties?
The war on terrorists? Any difference you can devine?
Kyoto. Notice any difference there?
Didn't think so.
I could go on. Not worth the electrons.
Because you didn't want the smell and warm-up time to save a measley six cents a gallon.
***That's crap because under Clinton it was 99 cents. What are you blaming old Republicans for when it is current Repubicans?***
I'm not blaming Republicans. I believe in supply and demand.
When the supply is up the price is down. When the supply is down the price is up.
The first embargo was just after the Yom Kipper war.
The second during Jimmy Carter's bungling of the Iran hostage crisis.
Then after, it was how the Emirs felt when they woke up that morning.
As I said in my earlier post, the price per gallon today is less than it was 50 years ago when compared to wages. See my post #20.
Well, I did park next to a very noisy Ford 250 diesel pickup today. But I remember test driving an OLDS diesel 88 or 98 that seemed as quiet and smooth as a gas one.The bank wouldn't loan on diesels period. And GM really blew it with reliability problems on those cars. I know a fellow who loves to mention the 12 gallons of diesel he puts in his VW every other week. His fuel mileage is three times mine.(OK,so mine is a K1500 v8350)
I paid $2.39 in Indiana on Thursday. It was $2.74 in Michigan later that day.
