I'm recalling another instance when Americans were forced to say things under duress, but they managed to let the world know their true feelings (the men of the USS Pueblo).

Yeah, but the military is trained to give covert signals. For example, like the soldier who was forced to pose with Hillary Clinton. Do you think journalists would stoop so low as to learn something that the stupid babykilling grunts have to use? (sarc.)

All these MMQ's who claim they would rather die at the hands of the decapitators rather than say anything against the USA or the war are full of Barbara Streisand.

You may also remember that when their captors found out that the middle finger was not the "Hawaiian good-luck symbol" they got the crap beaten out of them for a whole week. She was with people who like to make videos of beheadings. Who knows what each one of us might have done in her place...?

You cant compare the crew of the Pueblo to MS Carroll. She is a civilian, with no training on how to behave or duty to follow the rules of a POW. She is only a journalist, maybe a little Naive, but still a civilian.
I love to hear all these people who says" I would have spit in thier face rather than submit". It is easy to talk brave from the safety of the bar or workplace, but to really have this happen, I think most of the blowhards would pee themselves and do handstands if that is what the Muslims wanted. This does NOT apply to Military Personal, past or present{Of which I am}.
Until we hear otherwise, give the woman a break. rejoice in her not having her head removed, and pray to God that this never happens to you or your loved one.

I think is some what disingenuous to compare the actions of US Navy men to a female reporter. Especially considering that the world knows how the brave men of the USS Pueblo were beaten miserably after the N Korans caught on the the meaning of "The Hawaiian Friendship Sign"
