Point well taken...
I think that number is most likely on the low side. What we do know, with certainty, is we don't know how many illegals are entering, who they are and where they are.
Add to the overlooked/ignored list:

((clearing throat)) errrrr, isn't part of terrorist goal to cause psychological fear or worry? By definition, terrorism is systematic warfare to produce terror for political coercion.
Terrorism is defined in the U.S. by the Code of Federal Regulations as: "..the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives." (28 C.F.R. Section 0.85)
The last week has opened a window for the citizens of the USA to look through... a clear view into a "movement."
Overlooked or ignored, or blatantly manipulated... I just dunno. I do know... drums are beating.
I certainly do not completely disagree with your illegal invader scenario/possibility, but the immigration issue will not be the Ross Perot of '08. Why? Anti-truth, anti-freedom, anti-woman, anti-wife, anti-life, Hillary Clinton is the likely candidate for the 'rats. Evil is trumped by good people, and good people are connecting rapidly.
The 'rats do not gain any ground in '06 (which further demoralizes them) and the prospect looks gloomier in '08. Even their enablers are falling apart. The future looks bright.
