Other than the fact that he was picked up only 5 hrs from Whiteman AFB. You know the B2 Bomber installation.

This will end up just like the missile that was shot at an airliner leaving LAX a few months back. The pilots reported a missile had been shot at them and missed. FBI said NO it was just a bottle rocket.

I guess one way to look at it is like that saying 'loose lips sink ships.'

No doubt he's just a plant from NBC's "Dateline" to see if any of the bigots from MO would suspect him of anything.....

"some of the vehicles used in deadly car bombings in Iraq, including attacks that killed US troops and Iraqi civilians, were probably stolen in the United States, according to senior government officials."

That seems like a long way to drive... couldn't they just steal them in Syria and Jordon?

Malla was charged with "vehicle tampering" and bonded out.

I hope they at least embedded a GPS transmitter in his skull.

"An Iraqi-born U.S. citizen suspected of being a foreign intelligence agent was employed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to rule on asylum applications, including those from unfriendly Middle Eastern nations, according to documents "

I agree with your logic, but for whatever reasons, it seems that the USA is a popular place to steal cars from. Even for use as far away as Iraq.

And if such car theft rings are already in operation, it does suggest that concern over the port deal was misplaced. That, in fact, such gaps in our security structure are far greater than people realize.

I agree with that. I have heard stories about stolen cars (mostly SUV's) going overseas for years... it just seems the shipping costs would be more than the vehicle was worth. I guess ISO container shipping has become as affordable (and efficient) as air travel.

And apparently an easy way to permeate border security, regardless of issues like port ownership.

Everyone is worried about what is imported in shipping containers (as they should be), but I hear nothing about what is being shipped out.....

"FBI investiates former Iraqi soldier with stolen cars

Click here to watch Ray Preston’s report"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "(KMOV) - Deputies were called to this remote area of southern Washington County to check out "suspicious activity."

The deputies in found Nazar Malla, 36, with a couple stolen cars and a u-haul truck."

ARTICLE SNIPPET #2: "Malla is from Dearborn, Michigan, but when deputies checked out the cars they found two were stolen, one out of Michigan, another out of St. Louis.

"We received information talking with him he was an Iraqi citizen, he served in the Iraqi army in their artillery and then became a naturalized citizen of the united states," said Schroeder.

For deputies red flags seemed to be going up everywhere when they started processing the stolen cars.

Schroeder says Malla had wired about $25,000 through Jordan to Iraq, but it wasn't clear who was getting the money."
