DURHAM, N.C. - The father of the woman who has accused members of the Duke lacrosse team of sexually assaulting her said he didn't find out that his daughter was the reported victim - and that she is an exotic dancer - until a reporter visited his house.
The retired trucker who lives in Durham said he saw his daughter the day after the reported attack, but she didn't say anything was wrong. She even left her car at the house for several days because he said she didn't want to drive it.
Her father, a quiet man who tinkers on cars as a hobby, said he saw news reports about the attack.
"I didn't know it was my daughter," he said. The Charlotte Observer generally does not name victims of sexual assault, so his name is being withheld to protect the identity of his daughter.
The case has ignited campus protests and stirred racial tension in Durham. The woman at the center of the case is black, and the men she accuses are white. She also is a student at N.C. Central University, a historically black college near Durham's inner-city, compared with the more expensive Duke campus.
DNA tests have been conducted on 46 of the lacrosse players, who deny the allegations. A 47th member, who is black, was not tested because the woman said her attackers were white.
Last week, a reporter stopped by the reported victim's house looking for her, the woman's father said, but he said he didn't know what was going on. He called his daughter and she said the district attorney told her not talk to anyone.
"(She) didn't tell us anything about it," he said.
He said he also found out through the media that his daughter, who is the youngest of three, was an exotic dancer.
"She always told me she was going to work," he said.
On Friday, he installed a timing belt in a car and watched his daughter's two children play outside the house. He said working on cars and playing with the grandchildren helps take his mind off what's happening with his daughter.
He said she seems to be doing "pretty good," and so is the rest of the family. He said they haven't talked much about the reported incident, but it weighs heavily on his mind. He said he's grateful that N.C. Central has been so supportive, but he doesn't like how his daughter has been portrayed in the media. And he's especially frustrated that no one has been charged in the connection with the allegations.
"If it had been anybody but them, they would have been locked up, but yet they didn't because it's Duke," he said. "I hope them boys - if they did it - I hope they get what they deserve. I hope they don't go lenient on them."
District Attorney Michael Nifong said he's waiting for results of the DNA test and that he does not expect to file charges in the case any earlier than next week.
No, I'm saying that so far I haven't seen anybody mention seeing more than five or so people that night at the time this incident supposedly occurred; if 45 plus people were there, wouldn't somebody at least say something indicating there were more than five people in that yard? It's a little house; 45 people would be falling out the door...........LOL.
Not true; none of them refused to give DNA; they refused a second meeting with him but they went to Duke and gave DNA samples before he issued his request for DNA.
The racists left will win on this either way, in manipulating black minds; if the 'boys' are not convicted, the left will scream rich kids get off but poor blacks would not, and if convicted of anything the left race baiters will scream only the tip of their imaginary iceberg. Truth has never been recognizable with the liberal leadership of the democrap party or the democrat majority of the black community.
Nope, not buying that. She claims to have been beaten, kicked and strangled, if nothing else she would require medical assistance after being abused like that. Even if she didn't admit to being raped initially, the majority of women would seek medical attention especially during a stranger rape.
Secondly her and/or her friend placed a 911 call claiming to have been taunted with racist slurs. If she had the mental capacity to do that, then drive/ride to a grocery she could easily have called for help via 911.
And one more thing. Let's say things happened as she claimed. She was taken into the bathroom and raped by 3 men. Now, she has a friend with her, a female friend. Both are obviously outnumbered, what do you think the chances are that men, hell bent on rape, are only going to rape one of the women....
"Not true; none of them refused to give DNA; they refused a second meeting with him but they went to Duke and gave DNA samples before he issued his request for DNA."
Not true either. They refused and then 'volunteered' after they found out about the court order. I'll stand by the court order version of the events for the time being as it's well documented in print and in court documents. So many conflicting reports. I'm also curious about the sudden questioning about there not being a party with 40 odd people there. There are so many rumors now that virtually every aspect has conflicting reports.
What about the reports of her injuries in the hospital and the rape kit? Are we to discount all of that as well when we don't even know the whole story?
Well, here are the court documents and there is no court order or mention of a court order for DNA tests.

What evidence from the rape kit? Once again, having sperm inside you or on your person is not conclusive proof of rape.
What about her father's testimony. He says he saw her the day after the supposed incident and she appeared normal to him. Now, if she'd been beaten, kicked, raped and strangled as she claims, he would have seen it don't you think?
Also, we have another problem here. She claim her father came to the hospital to visit her and that is where he found out about the rape. He says the exact opposit. No hospital visit, she looked fine the next day when he did see her, and he didn't know about the rape until it was reported in the media.
What do you make of that?
Nifong said the 1st caller was not the accuser. I heard the 1st caller say "I and my black girl friend...." So, was the other 'dancer' white, and was she the one who called the first time?
The conflicting accounts about what the father said or when he found out means reporters are making stuff up because they are too lazy to do their jobs.
There is simply no way to know from media accounts what is truth, half-truth or fiction. The drive-by media is completely unreliable as a source of information. Liberalism has destroyed journalism completely.

I honestly don't know what to think anymore. I'd like to think the players are innocent and will wait for more information. Here's a link to an article from yesterday with some of the information on the shape she was in. We can't expect a video that proves this conclusively and I'd imagine there will be doubters in every rape case. That's why it's so hard on everybody involved. It also mentions a bit about the DNA being requested by the court for some of the players. It's 24 hours old of course and several hundred rumors ago so take it for what it's worth. I'm looking forward to seeing the developments later today. Have to run.
I'm going guess those at the party don't even know who all were there
That's a pretty huge lie to make up - now if only the NY Slimes was reporting it, I might believe it.
Reagardless of liberals taking over journalism does not mean this report is a lie. Also, if it was a lie, wouldn't the father, through the DA if needed, be screaming from the rooftop that he's being lied about?
=================================================
Daddy of "victim" doesn't know what she does for a living? Where the hell does he think she disappears to in the middle of the night? What if he needs to get ahold of her, if say, her kids had something happen to them?
Of course, maybe she doesn't give a cronkite about her children and he well knows it.
That's all I can figure, or the DA hasn't bothered to interview those who were there.
Ok, we have a claim that 3 members of a team raped this girl. We also have reports that 5 (it's 5 right Howlin?)members of the team were the only ones there. It wouldn't take much leg work at all to establish which players were at the party, get a court order for their DNA and try to establish their guilt.
Instead, we have the DA demanding DNA from the entire team. He's either lazy, or the evidence isn't there and he's fishing for anything to back up his accusations against this entire team.
In the video that Howlin linked at the beginning of the thread .. there is a video and they are claiming the police haven't yet interviewed the whole team
Hey, check this out :)

The phone records for the escort service might make interesting reading. Did "victim" have another job assignment prior to Buchanan St? Did that assignment result in her acquiring some male DNA samples? If so, do samples show genetic markers that were, perhaps, non-Caucasian? Picture Heroic District Attorney brain-storming with flunkies hoping to shirttail up the political ladder with him-------"We have to figger out how to keep this from defense lawyers and twist it to our benefit !! Ideas people !!"
