56 ILLEGAL ALIENS ARRESTED BY ICE AT CONSTRUCTION SITE
ICE executes a criminal search warrant against Reich Installation Services Inc.
CARTHAGE, Mo. - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents here arrested 56 illegal aliens this morning following the execution of a criminal search warrant against Reich Installation Services Inc. of Pewaukee, Wis.
The search warrant was executed at the Schreiber Foods construction site at 1206 W. Fairview, Carthage, Mo. Reich Installation Services is employed as a sub-contractor at this site. In addition to arresting the aliens working at the site, the criminal search warrant authorized seizure of business, financial and personnel records, as well as computers maintained by Reich Installation.
Of the 56 aliens administratively arrested today for illegally residing in the United States, 28 were Reich Installation employees. Eight others worked for Top Flight, another construction site contractor. The aliens all claim to be citizens of Mexico. ICE agents are still interviewing and processing the aliens for deportation.
Reich Installation Services has been associated with at least two other U.S. sites where illegal aliens have been arrested within the last year, said Elissa Brown, ICE special agent-in-charge of the Chicago office. Employers must get the message that hiring illegal aliens is against the law. ICE will especially scrutinize those employers who are repeatedly identified in these operations. Brown oversees the ICE Office of Investigations for a six-state area, including: Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky and Wisconsin.
It is against federal law to knowingly hire or continue to employ illegal aliens. Punishments range from $200 per paperwork violation to $10,000 per hiring violation, to include potential prison sentences.
Today's operation is part of ICE's comprehensive strategy for worksite enforcement aimed at promoting national security, protecting critical infrastructure, and ensuring fair labor standards.
Carthage Police Department and Jasper County Sheriff's Department assisted ICE with executing this criminal search warrant.
According to its website, Reich Installation Services Inc. nationally designs and installs custom warehouse distribution systems in factories and warehouses in excess of five million square feet.
This is an ongoing investigation.
That's a fine example of the lie perpetuated by the OBL. They like to claim that we want to arrest and convict the little guy. The fact is that these large companies are using illegals to crush the little guy trying to run his small business.
I am in shock. It wasn't a WalMart.

I suspect my local mall employs illegal aliens as janitors, but I have nothing to base this on other than the fact that they're all hispanics who don't speak English (or at least I've never heard a word of English from their mouths). I'd like to have a little more to go on before I go causing any trouble for people who may in fact be legal citizens. Anyone have any recommendations?
Think about it... the ultimate responsibility for this falls on the employer who hired the Criminal Aliens and thereby broke the law numerous times. And yet in the article there is NOTHING about the employer being arrested.
THIS is a major problem.
And we don't need new or even more laws. The laws on the books right now cover this like a blanket.
ICE should visit the employers office and demand to see the I-9 for for each Criminal Alien. The law mandates this form be filled out for each employee, legal or otherwise. I bet this employer doesn't have any filled out I-9 forms.
In the interest of full disclosure, I'll point out that if a Criminal Alien presented the employer with a fake SS number the employer would have no way of knowing that.
But I gptta point out that the employer can voluntarily use the SAVE program. But I doubt they do as they are WANTING to hire Criminal Aliens.
Here is a proposed message for a business that you are really sure is hiring illegals. I wouldn't suggest leaving your contact info. Maybe it gets sent from another email account, by fax, or by mail. Here is the first idea.
TO: The owner of X business
Sir, it has come to our attention that you may unknowingly have hired illegal aliens for your business. We hope that is not the case because it is against the law. There may be significant penalties involved.
You have an obligation to verify the status of an employee and to verify that the employee's documentation is real. You cannot just pretend that everything is okay. The fraud line for Social Security is 800.269.0271.
If you discover that you have hired an illegal alien, you need to solve the problem. If we discover, thirty days from now, that an illegal alien is working for you and you have not solved the problem, we have the obligation as good citizens to phone in a complaint to ICE - Immigration and Customs Enforcement at 866.347.2423.
We appreciate your attention in this matter and wish you continued business success.
We wouldn't have to even think about ratting out people using illegal laborers if our goverment was doing its job.
But I guess if they won't, this is what it will come to.
I can keep the 8 lousy Border Patrol Agents housed in San Antonio plenty busy if I decided to do so.
It is no longer the case that a sub contractor hires a couple of illegals when short handed. Whole construction crews are being brought up from Mexico to build the homes in this, the second fastest growing city in America.
I wonder if the Border Patrol would even act if I called something in? It's impossible to believe that they need my help in locating illegals. Can you say just drive out to a damn construction site with INS on the side of your car and chase down everyone who runs away as fast as they can?

He drives to the INS office instead. Hilarious to watch how quickly they flee.
It sounds to me like they don't want to scare the illegal employers too much by alerting them here that they will be given warnings. They could shut down the whole illegal worker trade in a hurry if they were busting these job sites at random and throwing the book at the employers.

I've seen it live and in color too. My dad had the contract on a big shopping center at Five Points (close to Corpus Christi) for the parking lot. The concrete guys were pouring the slabs when la migra showed up and a whole lot of that crew took off like you wouldn't believe.
So, what will happen to the people arrested? Will they be deported or what?
Only after October, if you believe what our politicians are saying.
They will end catch and release in October of this year.
Personally, I don't believe it.
I don't know what will happen to them.
This story proves that someone in the government has been listening even if the President hasn't.
