Friday, Mar 31 ABC Suspends John Green For One Month Good Morning America Weekend executive producer John Green has been suspended for one month after his personal e-mails were leaked to the Drudge Report and Page Six, TVNewser has learned. Phyllis McGrady made the announcement at GMA's morning meeting today.
A number of ABC News staffers are outraged that Green's personal messages have become a public embarrassment. Some have speculated that the messages were leaked by a disgruntled former employee...
Just suspended??? He should have been fired.
It's not a "personal message" when you send it out to dozens of people within an organization. Green made it public at that point.
What an idiot...what was in the emails????!!!!
I thought they were called "whistleblowers"? silly me
doesn't even say without pay ... probably getting a month-long vacation while memories fade, as measured by the latest ABC poll ;)
"If he uses the 'mixed messages' line one more time, I'm going to puke," Green complained.
Stop it.....leave the liberal alone.
ABC NEWS EXEC: 'BUSH MAKES ME SICK'; E-MAIL REVEALED
**Exclusive**
A top producer at ABC NEWS declared "Bush makes me sick" in an email obtained by the DRUDGE REPORT.
John Green, currently executive producer of the weekend edition of GOOD MORNING AMERICA, unloaded on the president in an ABC company email obtained by the DRUDGE REPORT.
"If he uses the 'mixed messages' line one more time, I'm going to puke," Green complained.
The blunt comments by Green, along with other emails obtained by the DRUDGE REPORT, further reveal the inner workings of the nation's news outlets.
A friend of Green's at ABC says Green is mortified by the email. "John feels so badly about this email. He is a straight shooter and great producer who is always fair. That said, he deeply regrets the sentiment expressed in the email and the embarrassment it causes ABC News."
[UPDATE: Green sent email to ABC staff: "By now some of you have seen the DRUDGE REPORT featuring a private email I sent to a colleague in 2004. I want all of you to know how much I regret the embarrassment this story causes ABC. It was an inappropriate thing to say and I'm deeply sorry.']
We got a new boss here at my place of employment. The first topic of our first manager's meeting was a discussion about e-mail. She emphasized that we need to be very careful what we send in e-mails because no matter how private you think they are, they can come back and bite you later on. I usually count to twenty before I hit send when I'm writing an e-mail when I'm angry. It's a good habit to get into. Especially when you have a boss like my last one who would forward them to anyone.
teehee!
So criticizing the president in a private email should be a fireable offense? Perhaps a prison term would be in order as well.
Just wondering - did you ever criticize Clinton in a private email?
I have never heard of him.
FYI
Exactly. There is no expected privacy once you use a workplace e-mail server and cc several employees.
After the message was exposed on The Drudge Report, Green apologized to colleagues in an e-mail saying, "I want all of you to know how much I regret the embarrassment this story causes ABC. It was an inappropriate thing to say and I'm deeply sorry." more..... _________________________________________________________ A one month suspension?
If Clinton was in office and if Green was a right winger directing his remarks at Clinton, you can be sure he would have been fired.
This was a slap on the wrist.
*snicker*
Yeah, he only apologized to his co-workers and not the president, for which his e-mail is referenced to. This suspension is equally as lame.
They didn't suspend him because of the Bush e-mail.
He was suspended for his e-mail trashing Madeline Albright calling her a self-hating Jew and instructing his staff not to book her on his show.
