Governor's appointee wants him penalized

Teachers union official has just been renamed to Board of Education.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's reappointment of a political rival to the State Board of Education didn't buy him much love in the enemy camp.

On Wednesday, the governor gave another term on the board to Joe Nuñez, a longtime teachers union activist and chairman of the organization that battled Schwarzenegger in last year's special election.

On Thursday, Nuñez, in his role as the Alliance for a Better California board chairman, filed a five-page complaint with the Fair Political Practices Commission against Schwarzenegger and the governor's old campaign vehicle, the California Recovery Team.

It demanded that the FPPC investigate and file a civil suit against Schwarzenegger and the California Recovery Team over what the alliance charged were "blatant violations" of the Political Reform Act.

The complaint cited provisions of the act that require independent expenditure committees to report within 24 hours all of their spending in the final 90 days of a campaign and charged that the CRT didn't start doing that until the final weekend before the Nov. 8 election.

"There is no question that the governor and CRT violated the law," Nuñez's letter of complaint said.

Nuñez urged the FPPC "to depose Gov. Schwarzenegger and his political consultants" to find out if there was "an overall plan by his campaign to hide from the press and the public the true nature of his committee's expenditures."

So much for appeasement.

When will Conservatives, even soy conservatives like Arnold, figure out that you cannot make "friends" with liberals by continually giving them "things".

Libs are like animals: By giving them what they want you show weakness and are not the pack leader. You will then be challenged even worse than before.

What should be done is to approach the liberal animal from a position of strength, to show them who is the pack leader.

This assumes the conservative is tough enough and smart enough to be the pack leader.

The Democrats really do hate Arnold.
We must defeat them.
