Playing by the rules is something "alien" to Ted K (Howie Carr)
Boston Herald ^ | 03/31/06 | Howie Carr

Ted Kennedy has given us his word. All these millions of illegal aliens that he wants to turn into citizens - and Democratic voters - will behave better than your average . . . Kennedy male.

“If you work hard,” said the 74-year-old Kennedy, who has never worked a day in his life, hard or otherwise, “and stay out of trouble . . .”

Fill in your own Ted Kennedy joke here.

So there he was the other night on CNN, refusing to use the word “illegal,” endlessly repeating his talking points:

“Pay a penalty . . . work hard . . . stay out of trouble . . .” And of course, my favorite: “Play by the rules.”

What exactly does Ted Kennedy - or illegal aliens, for that matter - know about playing by the rules?

“If you have paid your taxes, if you have worked uh if uh uh you’ve if uh you have been a good citizen . . .”

But they’re not citizens, Ted. They have invaded this country. They’re 27 percent of the inmates in the federal prisons. And, really, how many of them give anything beyond the sales tax?

“. . . (N)o problems with the law then you go to the end of the line.”

The end of the line. Another place Ted Kennedy has never been. The end of the bridge, yes, but the end of the line, never.

Ted Kennedy feels their pain. Many Americans resent the illegals because so many of them don’t pay, in addition to taxes, health insurance, automobile insurance . . .

You know, just because you don’t pay for anything doesn’t make you a bad person. Just ask Ted Kennedy. On the Cape he lives in a mansion assessed at $7.567 million. He acquired it in 1983 for . . . zero. It’s a great country, if you’re a Kennedy or an illegal alien.

“This is a crowd that works hard, plays by the rules, pays their taxes and wants to make this a better country.”

That must be why they’re always waving Mexican flags at their demonstrations, because of their commitment to the U.S.

But Ted Kennedy would not give them amnesty. Oh no.

“Every individual who follows that course is going to have to pay a penalty . . .”

And such an onerous burden it is, too. They have to come up with $2,000 in fines to become American citizens - and eligible for welfare. But we’re really, really throwing the book at them. They’ll have to learn English, and muchos gracias to Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) for his muy generoso proposal to give them all $500 to pay for their English lessons. Sen. Alexander wants to bribe the illegals to do something they should have done before they even arrived in his country.

Back to amnesty.

“Amnesty means forgiveness,” the hero of Chappaquiddick was saying. “Amnesty means pardoned. We are not forgiven.”

You got that right at least, Ted. You are not forgiven.

It’s one thing for Ted Kennedy to be out of his mind, talking about how these criminals are our “neighbors.” Where exactly are they Ted Kennedy’s neighbors? In Hyannisport? On Marlborough Street in the Back Bay?

But why would a Republican-controlled Senate committee OK a bill that “permits” states to grant in-state tuition (read: free tuition) to illegal aliens?

Does anyone remember what happened when free tuition for illegals was proposed in this bluest of blue states two months ago? Even the Kennedy-voting zombies around here went crazy.

Ted doesn’t care. He just figures they’ll be so dependent on government that they’ll all vote for Democrats, which is all he cares about. And if Ted has to learn Spanish, then so be it. Here’s your first Spanish word, Ted.

Cerveza. It means beer.

"Can't Afford to Buy a House? Become an Illegal Alien."

Headline of article in newsletter I just received from FAIR (Federation for American Immigration Reform).

Wells Fargo, Citibank, are pairing up with a pro-illegals group to offer lower-than-marked interest rates, help with down payments, etc.

Sorry can't post, I have the paper version. But if you're really concerned about immigration, FAIR is a great organization, formed just after 9/11. Check out their website: fairus.org

As far as paying taxes, Howie likes to recount that the Kennedys finessed it so that Rose Kennedy's considerable estate was probated(?) in FL rather than in MA, where the Death Tax is heinous in relation to Florida's.
Rose hadn't even stepped so much as a foot in FL for something like a dozen years before her death.

All too absent from the consideration of our undefended borders and illegal immigration is the real state of our national security while things remain as they are. I think I read today that some Hamas members were caught illegally entering the country. Think the Chinese are too civilized to engage in such subterfuge? The Russians, Iranians or Koreans?
Al Qaeda isn't the only snake in the garden.
If we don't control our borders, national security is an illusion, a conceit and a bad, bad joke.

Dear Friend,

Would you please email this Action Note to everybody you know so they can click the action buttons below just like you?

The U.S. Senate is poised this week to consider several giant amnesties for 12-20 million illegal aliens.

The only thing that can slow Senators down is massive opposition from their constituents. You don't have to take to the streets and shut down our cities like the illegal-alien supporters are doing across the land. You can counteract the massive pro-illegal protests by helping recruit a large internet army.

BINGO - I'm sick of supporting criminals just because they vote for dems.

Kennedy - From the gaelic "ceannaideach", meaning literally "the ugly headed one"

A man who lives up to his family name.

Prob inherited?...From a Howie Carr column last July,
as posted on FR:

--- Here are the numbers on just their vacation residences:

Sen. John F. Kerry's mansion at 5 Hulbert Ave. on Nantucket. Assessed value: $10,778.400. Annual taxes: $35,568.72.

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy's mansion at 50 Marchant Ave., Hyannisport. Assessed value: $7,567,500. Annual taxes: $58,659.48.

Nobody ever complains about the fact that both of these guys are living off what the Democrats like to call ``unearned income'' - in Teddy's case, from his bootlegging father, and in Kerry's, from his second wife's first husband's grandfather's trust fund.

Ted's real estate records were sent to me by an anonymous source, or, as Mumbles Menino says, ``an enoromonous source.'' According to the Town of Barnstable's Web site, Ted took possession of his 2.43 acres on Dec. 15, 1983.

``Sale price: $0.''

Wow! I guess you could say Ted got in before the bubble started.
