At least in the case of Condoleeza, the origin of the name is from an Italian music term. Parents were music teachers. She grew up on what used to be called "longhair" music.

Well, it ain't!

If I remember correctly, I read that con doleeza is an Italian musical term meaning to "play with sweetness."

Apparently in this case, the name doesn't show a lack of class but perhaps too much.

To me, it elicits images of condominiums, unfortunately. I can't say I have ever cared for the name.

"Condoleeza" is a term used in music, like "a capela" or "staccato."

Condoleeza is Italian.

The name "Condoleezza" is derived from the Italian music-related expression, "Con dolcezza", meaning "with sweetness".

Condoleeza just sounds Southern.

Didn't Nat King Cole sing a great song about her?
