Orangello and Lemongello are urban myths. If anyone personally knows folks with these names, I'd love to hear it.

Madycin. My doc just wrote me an Rx for that. Have to take one every morning for the rest of my life.

Oprah's mother misspelled her name at birth -- it was supposed to be Orpah, a biblical name, but it got a little mangled.
To: eyedigress
I know of a "Nosmo King", which was taken from the "No Smoking" sign in an inner city hospital in Chicago. No joke.

"Her last year teaching, my mother collected the weird names. She had a Nien (pronounced "nine"), a Lashonda, and a Mushwanda (pronounced "Mashonda")."Nobody, but NOBODY beats Utahns for goofy names. I went through the phone book in St. George and wrote down all the resounding beauties. Wish I still had that list.

Yes, only half wrong! It's a good story the other way though!
To: LS
The commander of the Pearl Harbor fleet on Dec. 7 was named "Husband."Among upper-class Americans in the late XIX Century it was common for the male firstborn to bear the mother's maiden name as his first name -- esp. if the mother's own father was rich! Think how your mother's maiden name would sound as your first name! It works with WASPs but that's about it.
