March 30, 2006--As Congress considers legislation to reform the immigration process, the nation remains divided on how to proceed.
By a 65% to 25% margin, Americans say it is more important to reduce the number of illegal immigrants entering the U.S. than it is to expand legal opportunities for foreign workers to get jobs in the U.S.
However, that doesn't translate into an overwhelming public desire to force illegal aliens out of the country. Thirty-nine percent (39%) of Americans say there should be some way for illegal aliens with a job to stay in the U.S. legally. Forty-four percent (44%) disagree while 17% are not sure.
Fully a quarter (25%) of those who believe reducing illegal immigration is the top priority also believe that some way should be found to keep illegal immigrants in the country legally.
Earlier surveys on immigration have found support for building a barrier along the Mexican border and positive attitudes towards citizen patrols along the border. Another survey found that most Americans consider current immigration laws a threat to both national security and the economy. Three-fourths of all Americans believe it is too easy for people from other countries to enter the United States.
Thanks for your informative post.

Hold Their Feet to the Fire (Immigration Lobbying Trip)
Washington, D.C.
April 22 - 27, 2006
Last year Roger Hedgecock, a top rated radio talk show host from San Diego, expanded his annual trek to D.C. and invited 18 other radio talk show hosts and some 400 listeners from across America to participate.
This year's group promises to be even larger. Last year Roger's group was instrumental in convincing Congress to pass the Real I.D. Act. This year they will fight for comprehensive border security WITHOUT AN AMNESTY. Congress will soon be debating the dozen or more bills that seek to secure American borders against terrorists and human trafficking. Some bills stink and others have great merit. The mid-term elections are in November and participants will carry a strong message: sign on to legislation to protect America or we campaign against you in the fall, regardless of party.
Many events and lobbying efforts planned. Contact organizers for details.
Please not that participants will have to pay our own airfare, hotel bills, meal tabs and Jack Daniels charges. Costs will be as cheap as possible.

Go to either thread for more details on what to do. The TOLL FREE number to report ILLEGAL aliens or those employing ILLEGAL aliens to ICE is: 866-347-2423
How it works:
You are not required to provide your identity to ICE. All that is necessary to request an investigation by ICE is mere suspicion of any activity by ILLEGAL aliens.
ICE and the IRS are especially interested in "visiting" those businesses that employ ILLEGALS "off the books" to avoid the payment of payroll taxes.
I suggest looking around and see if you might spot a suspect. At work, at school, at a job sight, Micky D's, Store etc.
On the day(current plan is May 1) of this march check to see if you can determine if someone took the day off. Confirming grounds for suspicion.
:) Easy Does It
