Hispanic groups in the U.S. are planning a major boycott of American life dubbed a day without Latinos to protest proposed legislation that would criminalize illegal immigration.
Mexican American Political Association (MAPA) President Nativo Lopez, one of the organizers of the recent protests in Los Angeles that saw at least 500,000 people take to the streets, said the May 1 "day without Latinos would send a stern message to Washington.
"We are looking forward to a major action in all large U.S. cities where immigrants make up a significant proportion of the workforce, Lopez told Agence France-Presse.
"We are asking people not to go to school, or work, or shopping, and instead to go out and protest against the racist and inhumane measures in this bill.
MAPA and other grass roots Latino groups are also organizing an April 10 protest in 20 major American cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas in a bid to defeat the proposed immigration reform bill, Lopez said.
And a third day of protest is scheduled to take place Saturday in Costa Mesa, a town in Orange County, Calif., that has been a focus of anti-illegal immigrant protests for the past several months.
The citys mayor has pushed a proposal through the city council to train police to nab and deport illegal aliens who commit crimes.
Said Lopez: "We are going there to make a tough statement right in the bedrock of the anti-immigrant movement.
Perhaps not surprisingly, May 1 is also known as "May Day," the International Worker's Day, which is infamously celebrated in Moscow's Red Square and by communists and socialists throughout the world.
Heh heh! Bump!
Does that mean the Mexicools won't be wrestling on Monday Night Raw???
The Million Man March also promised that they would bring the country to a halt. I can empty my own trash can thank you very much.
Here are people acknowledging that their own country of Mexico has nothing to offer them and they are trashing America?
So this is what they were talking about on my local Philly radio
Around here, legal Polynesian immigrants will take their place.
It's alright. I've got a whole list of local teenagers that I pay for yard work and help in the shop.
We are constantly bombarded with the rhetoric "They are here to do the jobs Americans won't do" perhaps those Americans should be ready to take those jobs.
No one wants to be in Tlatelolco Massacre, Part II.
If all the employers became "Reagan for a day" and fired them all......and then raise the salaries of those who stay on the job!!?.......send a message.
Maybe someone should organize a day without americans! Don't go out to eat, fire your gardener, leave them standing at home depot etc etc.
Crap - who's gonna pick my lettuce?
GROOVEY..
So when life goes on without them, then what?
As I said in my business:
As long as you are ready for the day after to be your
day without Latinos in my workplace. - go for it.
Wasn't that the premise for a movie? I think I read that in the movie all the Mexicans in the U.S. suddenly left and U.S. society pretty much fell apart.
Nobody is proposing legislation for Latino U.S. citizens or permanent resident to be kicked out. And I betcha 90% of illegal aliens still show up to work on May 1, since they need their jobs and can't afford to miss a paycheck. So on May 1 we'll see what it would be like if a large number of Latino U.S. citizens and permanent residents didn't go to work, and it's supposed to show us what life without illegal aliens would be like? If pro-illegal alien protesters really wanted to make a point, only *illegal alien* Latinos would skip work on that day. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Now, THAT would screw everybody over, because if ya'all don't go to work, nobody gets their welfare check, cable, internet service, etc.
Second most important holiday on the Mexican calendar. Much bigger celebrations in Mexico than for their Independence Day, 16 September.
I think now is the time to press this. Force the RATS into doing something.
Then when they all protest on May Day we can show America that the RATS are nothing but anti American Marxists.
