(Feb. 6, 2006) - A Navy tugboat pulls alongside the Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine USS Dallas (SSN 700), as the fast attack submarine gets underway in support of a Special Warfare Training exercise. Dallas is carrying a Dry Deck Shelter (DDS)-equipped submarine attached to its aft escape trunk. DDS is the primary supporting craft for the SEAL Delivery Vehicle (SDV). Wow! The human brain is fascinating. I actually recognize the skyline in the background of the Dallas pic. Looks pretty much the same as it did 40 years ago. We had that same view when we got underway out of Norfolk. I recognize mostly the treeline in the left of the photo. Hasn't changed a bit.
