"But as a Christian it's a bit embarrassing to be complaining about censored "Christian" art when a Christian in Afghanistan just barely got out of the country with his life."

True, but it is a matter of degrees. If we allow our right to freely practice our religions to be slowly chipped away at then it might be our children or grandchildren who find themselves is a climate where people are imprisoned for converting to or openly practicing Christianity.

I see Christians being pushed into a corner in this country. Somewhere we are going to have to draw a line in the sand and fight for our religious liberties.

If we don't then I can only conclude that it must be God's will for the Church in America to undergo a great persecution.

Matthew 5:11
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Maybe it would make us a little more serious about our faith.

When the "secularist" Thomas Jefferson allowed and attended religious services in the national capitol, the attitudes of his ideological grandchildren seem absolutely irrational. The idea that government cannot accommodate the religious views of the great majority of Americans does not compute.

I agree with you. Physical persecution of any group does not always start with prisons and firing squads. It often starts with something seemingly as innocuous as ridicule, which is nothing more than hatred wearing a grin.
People ought to educate themselves about what is going today. Certain mental health professionals are saying religious conversions should be treated as a mental disorder. There are some educrats and sociocrats who would like to see educating Christian children in concepts like eternal damnation and sin classified as a form of child abuse. And then there is the danger of the complete secularization of our government, which is the goal of many powerful groups in this country. If that should ever occur, you can bet your last dollar preaching the gospel will be classified as "hate speech". You can make book on it.

The Book of The Revelation, Chapter 12, talks about Satan's war against Christians in the last days. While reading, keep in mind that the "man child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron" is not Jesus, but the annointed one who appears in the last days. Rev 2:26-27 provides Jesus' Word on the matter.

This verse summarizes our current situation: "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ" -- Revelation 12:17
