The status quo IS amnesty. Nothing is done to remove illegal immigrants so, de facto, they are here to stay.
If there is no bill this year (and it is looking increasingly as if there will not be), immigration reform will be dead for at least another three years.
What the hell are you smoking?
How does opening the floodgates to every illegal alien and his fourth cousin twice removed consitute "reform?"
That's better than passing the Specter-Kennedy-McCain monstrosity. No bill is better than a very very bad bill.
Hopefully, this will increase the resolve of the Minutemen on the border and prompt them to take more agressive action against illegals.
How do we deport 11-12 million illegal aliens?
Start by enforcing the law. Whenever anyone is arrested for a crime, before even a trial, if it is determined that they are here illegally, deport them immediately. Just enforce the present law.
If they wish to protest and go to trial for the crime they were arrested for, set up a program where once they are back in their home country they can go to an American Embassy and appear there, and via remote Internet teleconference, have a full USA trial before a US judge. If acquitted, then they would have the opportunity to apply for a visa to enter the US and start at the back of the line.
