Those who enter the country illegal are, by definition, criminals. That's not rhetoric; it's plain, objective fact.

Somehow I doubt that most of the business owners wishing to enslave this underclass of invisible people are left-leaning marxists. Instead, I would surmise that they are mostly those whose lust for money has overtaken their conscience. Slavery, by name, went out a hundred and fifty years ago in this country. However, modern day plantation owners have found that some are willing to work as slaves if you fire the whip-wielding overseers and split up their salary among dozens of workers.

Maybe if more illegal aliens were found picking cotton, people would see the parallels a little easier. Keeping cotton dirt cheap wasn't worth it to the people of this country when it came at the cost of slavery, yet some here on this very forum essentially advocate this modern form of slavery under the guise of keeping certain produce dirt cheap.

"By definition", so is everyone who has ever exceeded the speed limit, or changed lanes without using their signal. That's plain, objective fact too. Doesn't make those who have done so unworthy of being Americans, though.
