House Majority Leader John A. Boehner refused yesterday to rule out compromising with the Senate to expand the House border security bill to include a guest-worker program or provisions that opponents call "amnesty." "Let's wait and see what the Senate can produce," he told reporters yesterday when asked whether House Republicans would reject the Senate Judiciary Committee's proposal to allow the estimated 12 million illegal aliens now in the U.S. to seek citizenship after paying a fine.

Trust me, the voters who the GOP needs in order to have any hope of retaining control of Congress will remember. Nah, that don't matter either. Besides...this thread has been Botted already; complete with the usual flame baiters, personal attacks, condensation, diversion from the original issue, and some good ole intellectual dishonesty.
Oh well...

"write to your senators, congressperson and make phone calls."
I do, all the time, and on every issue.
Guess what?..They even write me back personally, not form letters.

Oh, to be able to afford that kind of a monthly donation! It's all in jest. It will break more than a few hearts here to find out that I'm NOT going anywhere. :-D

Here's a handy Latin phrase for you.
Acta non verba.
See, I knew a bloviator and keyboard warrior such as yourself would enjoy that.
I guess studying Latin for nearly three years wasn't a total waste.
The only problem is that your supposed mastery of Latin does not make your incoherent, English-language arguments any more substantive.
If you removed the brains of either Jerry Brown or William F. Buckley Jr. and replaced them with yours, I doubt that the remaining fluency in a dead language would do either of them any good.

What's the matter...newbie Beagle8U can't defend himself/herself? You gotta play big brother. Hahahahahahah
Give it up coop, if Beagle8U is gonna brown nose around here. He/she better start defending his/her own post. Nice little intercept you tried though. Let's see how he/she spins off your post to make it appear it was his/her response.

If he were trying to increase the bidding, you'd think that he'd take a hard line for now, then compromise later...Possibly. But this way, by being coy and adopting a posture that he could go either way, he can get both sides to bid. The more bidders there are, the higher the price is likely to go.
To: Beagle8U
How wonderful is that? I am impressed and heartened.

Which branch of the service did you serve in? Who said I served in the military?
You never answered my question...Do you define the vast majority of freepers who are distgusted at this issue as the "hysterical bunker brigade"?
No, no. But they all tend to be just as informed about this topic as they did about the Dubai Ports Deal. Feel better now? :-)

It would appear so.
Still, we saw who had facts and logic to substantiate their arguments, and who resorted to personal insults and diversionary tactics, didn't we?

Some here on FR have nothing to lose when they go halfcocked because when they realize that it ends up being nothing like they proclaimed it would be, they'll just go and change their names then jump back aboard.

And yet you still misused that NON SEKWEETIR word. Perhaps a bit more focus on your language "challenges" and a bit less focus on the pretty Kool-Aid pictures would help.
