Boehner hints a back down on 'amnesty'
The Washington Times ^ | March 29, 2006 | Charles hurt

Posted on 03/29/2006 7:15:28 AM PST by surely_you_jest

House Majority Leader John A. Boehner refused yesterday to rule out compromising with the Senate to expand the House border security bill to include a guest-worker program or provisions that opponents call "amnesty." "Let's wait and see what the Senate can produce," he told reporters yesterday when asked whether House Republicans would reject the Senate Judiciary Committee's proposal to allow the estimated 12 million illegal aliens now in the U.S. to seek citizenship after paying a fine.

My memory is perfectly fine.

Yes, I can see that you've memorized your talking points perfectly. Good boy.

Are the Quislings really that stupid, or do they secretly agree with the masked teenage "revolucionario" wearing the Che shirt above?

That's a funny thing about the internet: you can freely lie about your true motivations and goals.

I'm sure that if the internet had existed in 1940, there would have been *Norwegians* posting that they should welcome their "German brothers" as liberators.

Same $#!+, different war....

QUISLING: a synonym for traitor, someone who collaborates with the invaders of his country.

Question for you: If 2 million illegals cross the border every year but the number of illegals in the US increases by only 500 thousand a year, How does the math work out?

The border is porous in both directions. Mexican illegals tend to return to Mexico once every 18 months. The risks are not that high.

I see where you included the word "generally" in your original statement. I apologize for calling you ignorant, a more proper word is uninformed.

Great job LH. I agree with RC though. I'm all for sending these back to the RINOS, but they're still a little too close to the real thing.

"It also seems to me that the dems are merely using this issue, which they could give two shyts about, as a means to divide us. Based on what I am seeing in this thread, the dems have calculated correctly"

Bingo!

The Rats have also sent DUcks and KOS-kool-aid kids in here as trolls to stir the pot.

Looks like they are doing a good job of it too.

The rule about pinging other people that you mention has always seemed silly to me but is apparently a real rule around here. It isn't as if the "victim" can't read the same post that everybody else is reading. But nevertheless, there is always some schoolyard snitch type who will ping that poster for you, along with a nagging admonishment for not following the rules. I think the rule is mainly used now as a pretense for getting folks suspended.

That's rich, coming from you of all people.

I suppose you didn't detect the irony when making that statement, did you?

What bill did Bush sign to give them AMNESTY? I knew Specter was working quickly but I missed the Presidential signing of Congressional Legislation.

Not if they aren't on the thread, dimbulb.

Delusional.

Well then you are a psudeo bush bot. It's going to take radical action to bring this issue under control. If that takes another four years of things going to hell with a democratic administration to bring about enough disgust from conservatives to change things in a radical manner then so be it.

I'm convinced there's nothing the democrats can do in four years than we won't already have reached in 8 or 10 with contiued republican adminstrations who use the 2A and RTL as their hooks to drag along a "base" while the rest of things go to hell.

Again, physician heal thyself! Posting pro Bush/GOP sentiment is no different than incessantly posting anti Bush/GOP sentiment (except in your hypocritical little BunkerWorld - "Hurry, hurry! Win the little lady an ammo box! Everyone's a winner!")

At least not before the 2006 elections.

But don't you see? If they no bill it because of the election year, they'll ignore it again next year. Then the year after that is an election year again.

Maybe when LA is burning (again) these idiots will start to concentrate their minds.

"By definition", so is everyone who has ever exceeded the speed limit, or changed lanes without using their signal. That's plain, objective fact too. Doesn't make those who have done so unworthy of being Americans, though.

Yep, legally it's a misdemeanor.

But we have people here who want to spend billions over many year extracting the 12 million illegals who have committed this misdemeanor.

I think it's possible now, to get strong border protection, strong employment enforcement and a guest working plan that does not lead to a cutting of the citizenship line and does not lead to an increase in legal quotas.

But we will never get that because Tancredo and his followers want the 12 million to do a hat dance over the border and back.

Ole!

You're all about giving me some kind of LABEL, aren't you?

If that takes another four years of things going to hell with a democratic administration to bring about enough disgust from conservatives to change things in a radical manner then so be it.

I can't believe you're that big a fool; if you hand over this country to the Democrats they WILL change the rules so they will NEVER have to give up the power again.

And so you can spend the rest of your lifetime whining about how horrible the liberals are, while you have given them the opportunity to finish this country off.
