House Majority Leader John A. Boehner refused yesterday to rule out compromising with the Senate to expand the House border security bill to include a guest-worker program or provisions that opponents call "amnesty." "Let's wait and see what the Senate can produce," he told reporters yesterday when asked whether House Republicans would reject the Senate Judiciary Committee's proposal to allow the estimated 12 million illegal aliens now in the U.S. to seek citizenship after paying a fine.

This immigration mess has been going on for a very long time and our current laws aren't working and the simple rhetoric thrown by some(such as throw farmers in jail for basically the crime of hiring people to pick crops etc.etc.,) borders on the bizarre.

Frankly, I've never understood the opus thing; why not just leave.

If he were a Communist he would have run at the head of one of the 2-3 far-left, pseudo-Marxist political parties that do exist in Mexico.
Secondly, even if he were a Communist I doubt that he would be foolhardy enough to provoke a confrontation with a country that his people are entirely dependent upon.
Finally, there was no good candidates during that election.
Perhaps ejecting the PRI from office for the first time in seven decades was a good thing, at first.
However, the notion that Franciso Labistida or Cardenas would have been worse-or much different-than Fox had they been elected is absurd.
