House Majority Leader John A. Boehner refused yesterday to rule out compromising with the Senate to expand the House border security bill to include a guest-worker program or provisions that opponents call "amnesty." "Let's wait and see what the Senate can produce," he told reporters yesterday when asked whether House Republicans would reject the Senate Judiciary Committee's proposal to allow the estimated 12 million illegal aliens now in the U.S. to seek citizenship after paying a fine.

I said I was wrong; you've yet to admit you tried to foist off a picture of kids skipping schools as people being arrested for raising flags over public buildings.
Try not to be such a prick.
If you're a mod...that explains how I survive here and I would like to thank you from my most humble heart. I am grateful.
I always wondered.
;>)
btw...i confess to scanning the clowns from time to time and nolu chan is there (who I like quite a lot...but he is not an anti-freeper)...but I digress.....I saw where they had a thread on you a while back.....in my experience you don't ever offend anyone much....they must be mighty picky
I am way too far off the right side of the cultural table for them.....quite a few of them were South and Christian bashers when they were here
the clowns are very very catty
now LP....it's just no fun without Todd's rants.....lol
You give Americans too much credit. Without illegal aliens, we would all be dumpster-diving, looking for any scrap of food to sustain us. Of course, the dumpsters would be empty because all of the restaurants would be out of business; and we would be forced to flee to Mexico----the only country in North America with food.
There are many islands whose immigration policies I wouldn't want to adopt.
The point is that Japan-until recently-took immigration seriously.
The Japanese didn't allow millions of immigrants-from distinctly foreign cultures, who would not be able to assimilate-to live there.
To the extent that a guest-worker program is effective in Japan it's only because Japan takes this problem seriously, although even the Japanese are becoming lax, in imitation of their American allies.
My post was specific, yours is general.
You won't find me defending Clinton in any case.
But you also won't find me defending this administration's conscious decision to lay off employers who break the law.
Guest workers isn't amnesty.
Oh gee, arasina, who have I called a troll?
Better read the posts again.
Poor you. I personally don't give a rip if you opus or not.
Nice try too -- I did not gang up on Do not dub me shapka broham at all! You are sorely mistaken with that accusation. Heck, I even asked him to watch my back "all in fun" of course.
You're really PATHETIC to try to single me out and you couldn't be more WRONG if you tried.
Wow, 1528 posts of dribble.
Bush made this statement when he was announcing his opposition to measures to crack down on illegal immigration during the 2000 primaries. At about the same time he took to campaigning for President in Spanish. The message from Bush to illegals from day one has been, "Come on up. I'm not going to do anything to stop you, and I'm going to do all I can to change the law to make it easier for you. I'm even going to speak to you in your own language."
Try not to be such a prick.
Of course, anyone who cares to go back and read the whole exchange will see that I did no such thing.
Try not to pop a blood vessel.
Which country's immigration and worker program do you think is the best?
Pretend you don't know what an anchor baby is.
JMO, "Family values don't stop at the Rio Grande" says to me that people are basically the same
Uh huh. Criminals from abroad are just the same as American citizens and legal residents.
Keep writing like this, and soon you'll be asked to go write speeches for George Bush!
BS; he speaks in Spanish sometimes, but only after he's spoken in English and he never gives entire speeches in Spanish.
Man, truth is like kryptonite to you people.
It's not the government's job to find the most cost-effective method of how someone should operate his or her business.
Government should not be in the business of micromanaging the economy, or devising shortsighted schemes by which giant agri-businesses and hi-tech firms can find an endless supply of cheap labor.
Entrepreneurs should be thinking of how to effect cost-savings and improve efficiency without driving their companies into bankruptcy.
The point is that it is just another warm and fuzzy line meant to make people feel better about illegal immigration. Nobody would say that family values don't exist south of the border.
I'm sure you're loved here. Have a look at the other sites. I am getting creamed on 'em --- others are too of course. I get links mailed to me. I rarely look.
I think you can find the Toad at (I'll FR mail you) don't want to give the forum any publicity!
Yes, that'd be me, Howlin. That'd be me. And you can bet everyone, if asked "Which FReeperette is a Drama Queen: arasina, or Howlin?" they'd all respond "arasina, of course!"
Thanks for recognizing that and giving me the attention I so desperately seek.
If you hurry, you could probably get a Mod to ban me before I write an opus. Wouldn't that be just so wonderful?
You don't read too well, do you?
It wasn't an opinion piece.
