This morning, President Bush announced from the Oval Office at the White House, the resignation of long time friend, and 5 year Chief of Staff, Andrew Card, and the appointment of Josh Bolten, director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, to that position. Later, following a Cabinet Meeting, the President made a statement in the Rose Garden, surrounded by Cabinet members, about the progress in the government of Iraq, and the commitment of his administration to work with their counterparts in Iraq in the future.
In news of significance to all conservatives, both Lyn Nofziger (81), Reagan press secretary, and Caspar Weinberger (88), Reagan's Secretary of Defense, died in the past 24 hours. Both men served with distinction and will be missed.

Both WERE close to tears. I'm a "student" of President Bush, and I study every nuance. He was close to tears in that photo. Being an emotional man, is one of his most endearing qualities to me.

Looking at the peace and joy in his face lifts my spirits right up. :)

Right you are!!
President Bush is one of a kind, and I am truly sorry that some people don't realize that. We are very, VERY lucky to have him at this particular time and place in history.
I actually got to meet him, shake hands with, and talk to him on August 9th, 2004.
It is a day I will never forget. And thanks to C-Span and the DVD I have of the event, I never will forget!!
