We do not typically have a high murder rate here. In 2002, Seattle had the 7th lowest murder rate for large American cities. The same year, 6 of the 10 states with the highest per-capita murder rate were in the South: Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Alabama. 7 of the 10 cities with the lowest per capita murder rate are considered liberal: Honolulu, San Jose, Austin, San Diego, San Jose, Portland (OR), New York, and San Francisco. So, with all due respect, all this stuff blaming these murders on Seattle's liberalism don't hold up.
