Talking Sense on Immigration
Immigration is the lifeblood of America, a bedrock value tied to our founding and one that constantly renews the greatness of our country. America is and will always be a home for people who are willing to put in the hard work to create a better life for themselves and their families.
-- Hillary Rodham Clinton
Dear Friend,
The Senate Judiciary Committee has reported out a bill on immigration law reform which will now be considered by the full Senate. Hillary has made clear her position and the principles by which she will consider new legislation.
"Our immigration system is in crisis," Hillary said, citing dangers to national security, the exploitation of undocumented workers, and the strain on state social services. "We have a system that is broken, and we have to find practical but fair solutions to fix it."
Hillary believes we need comprehensive, immigration reform based on these principles:
Strengthening our borders including new technology to help our Border Patrol agents be more effective and new enforcement laws that are both strict and fair; A fairer process for people seeking to come to America, especially to reunite divided families, and harsh penalties for those who exploit undocumented workers; Greater cooperation with neighboring countries, especially Mexico; and
An earned path to citizenship for those already here working hard, paying taxes, respecting the law, and willing to meet a high bar for becoming a citizen. At the same time, Hillary said, "So I will support plans that meet these principles, and I will oppose one-sided solutions that simply sound tough but do little to deal with either our porous borders or the millions of families who live here." She has spoken out strongly against the bill passed by the House of Representatives which would criminalize those who offer any kind of assistance - even food or health care - to undocumented immigrants.
Hillary believes we should insist on a balanced, fair, and effective immigration policy - one that strengthens our laws and national security while respecting Americas history and values.

GAG ME.
So as usual Democrats will try to be on all sides of the issue at the same time.
Well hells, bells, we have Queen Hillary, Dictator Fox of mexico, the liberal democrats who are dictating to everyone, and our traitor Senators, wow am I in the twilight zone or what?
To late Hitlery. Already in the process. By the way the immigration problem started many years before President Bush. I will admit the President ignored the border problem, and he is paying for it now. But at least before his term expired it may have a fix, and that is more than the RATS have ever done. RATS move their mouth but get nothing done.
If anyone is well acquainted with sounding tough and then doing nothing, it's Hillary.
What is so funny is that people willingly vote for her. As in they actually want to vote for her and not against her opponent.
As I understand it, she moved to New York for the dem machine -- knowing it would support her. If she had to depend on the people of New York for votes, she'd be living in a poor house scrubbing spuds.
we have to find practical but fair solutions to fix it.
Why are those "fair solutions" always fair to the illegals and NOT to American citizens? Because they don't give a dam about American citizens.
Well feel free to send Senator DoNothing a note.

Hillary must have her own definition for the word great.Didn't she say Bill was a great husband?
That's a lot of words to state the obvious.
But sheeple will think "Oh, how Brilliant!"
Yet another email (3/29) from the Queen
We Can Do It - Together!
Dear Friend,
As you know, this is a critical election year for our country.
Every day, President Bush and his Republican-led Congress demonstrate just how out of touch they are with average Americans.
While they want you to believe that they share our concerns for families who are struggling to keep up with their daily responsibilities, the fact is George Bush and his Washington Republicans just offer
more of the same - help for those who need it the least, leaving ordinary citizens behind.
Their message is simple: "you are on your own."
The 2006 elections offer us the best opportunity to change the direction of our country. That's why I need your help.
Make an urgent contribution before the deadline.
With the critical March 31 deadline approaching, our campaign has set an ambitious goal for the first quarter. We are within reach and need to raise $100,000 by the end of March.
This financial report will show my Republican opponents that I have the backing and means to wage an active, vigorous campaign. And your support will allow me to raise and campaign on issues the Republicans want to ignore: like health care, and education, and energy independence - and wise security policies that will really keep America safe!
Make an urgent contribution before the deadline.
There are only three days left before the end-of-March reporting deadline arrives.
I hope you'll be as generous as you can be and help us reach our goal of $100,000.
Thanks you for your friendship and support. Together, we will win.
Sincerely,
Hillary Rodham Clinton
